Today is Police Remembrance Day. On this day, we pay tribute and honour the brave members of the Police forces in New Zealand, Australia, and the Pacific who have tragically lost their lives in the line of duty, as a result of their service, and those who are currently serving. We also remember those New Zealand Police staff serving and retired, sworn and non-sworn, who have died in the past year.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the men and women who dedicate their lives to protecting our communities and our country. Your courage, commitment, and sacrifice are not unnoticed, and we are grateful for your service.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at the Te Awamutu & District Memorial RSA on Wednesday night, raising awareness for Prostate Cancer Foundation during Blue September.

It was great to see such a large number of the community come together to support such an important cause.

A very special thanks to Dr. Shivam Deo of Mahoe Med for sharing such an insightful and impactful talk. Your words resonated with everyone in the room.

A heartfelt thanks to Peter Matthews for courageously sharing your journey and first-hand experiences. Stories like yours inspire and empower our community to take action.

Congratulations also to the lucky raffle winner, the cake looked amazing!

Together, we’re raising awareness, sharing knowledge, and making a difference.

Grief has no timetable. It can arrive suddenly, resurface years later, or quietly walk alongside us in everyday moments. As we step into spring, a season of renewal and remembrance, we’re reminded that while new life blossoms, it’s also a time to pause and remember those we hold in our hearts.

The Grief Centre, is a charitable trust, offering a safe, compassionate space where you can share, learn, and find support in the way that feels right for you. From one-on-one counselling to group sessions, workshops, and resources, their team is there to walk with you through every season of loss and healing.

If you or someone you know could benefit from support, please reach out.

You don’t have to walk this path alone.

Our services provide loss and grief support to anyone experiencing a significant or difficult life situation.

This September, Rosetown Funeral Home’s Jim Goddin is going blue for a cause close to his heart.💙

Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 Kiwi men, and early detection can save lives.

As a local funeral director, Jim has seen firsthand the impact this disease can have on families and communities.

That’s why he’s proudly supporting prostate.org.nz and Blue September raising awareness, encouraging conversations, and fundraising to help fight prostate cancer.

As part of his fundraising, Jim will be hosting an event at the Te Awamutu RSA on Wednesday 24th September.

• Join us at the RSA in Te Awamutu on Wednesday, 24th September from 5:30pm for an evening
of connection and support.

• RSVP to office@rosetown.co.nz or call 07 870 2137 — or just come along!

Today is Daffodil Day and today we wear yellow for hope.

We wear yellow to honour those we've lost, support those who are still fighting and stand with the families and carers who walk alongside them.

We're proud to support the Cancer Society and the amazing work they do.

Please show your support and donate at one of the many street appeal locations in town today or make a donation at www.daffodilday.org.nz

A bit about us...

The way we see it, funeral services are all about you and the person you are honoring. They are a time to say goodbye in a way that is special to you.

Our primary role is to go quietly about our business, guiding and supporting you – ensuring a fitting send-off, no matter your budget.

Nothing gives us more pleasure than knowing we have helped to ease a family's suffering and grief. We love hearing that we’ve made the funeral process one where they feel fully informed and involved. The more involvement from family, the more personalised the service becomes.

There is no set way - don’t settle for "it's always been done this way" funeral services, when there are so many options available to you at a price you can afford. Talk to us today for refreshing, professional and dignified care. Nothing is too much to ask.
