Kia mataara whānau – Immunisation protects our people šŸ¤

Immunisation is one of the best ways we can care for our tamariki and safeguard the wellbeing of our whānau and wider community.

Why Immunisation Matters
āœ” Protects your tamariki from serious illnesses
āœ” Helps keep your whānau and community safe
āœ” Free for all tamariki on the National Immunisation Schedule

When to Immunise
Tamariki can be immunised from birth, with scheduled vaccines at key ages to keep them protected as they grow.

Keeping up with immunisations helps prevent the spread of diseases that can have long-lasting impacts on our people especially our pēpi, kaumātua, and those with lower immunity.

If you’re unsure where your tamariki are at, or need support getting booked in, reach out, we’re here to help guide you.

šŸ“ž To book or kōrero with our clinic team, call us on 07 552 4573

Let’s continue to stand strong in protecting our whakapapa, now and for future generations.

He oranga ngākau, he oranga whānau šŸ¤

🌿 Prioritising our mental health, together 🌿

A gentle reminder to our community your wellbeing matters.
Taking small moments each day to care for your hinengaro can make a big difference over time.

Whether it’s slowing down, moving your tinana, resting, or reaching out, every step counts.

You don’t have to carry everything on your own.
We are here, and your whānau and community are here with you šŸ¤

Take it one breath, one moment, one day at a time.

Good morning Bay of Plenty - this morning, MetService New Zealand has lifted all weather warnings and watches for the region.

While this is good news for the day ahead, many parts of the region are still feeling the impacts of Cyclone Vaianu.

Even where the weather appears to ease, serious risks remain. These include fallen trees, unstable structures, flooding, debris on roads, downed power lines and landslides. As always, put safety first.

Please take care when travelling. Check in with your local council's website and social media channels for local updates, as well as NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi - Waikato & Bay of Plenty for any state highway impacts and clsoures.

Kia mataara whānau – Influenza season is here šŸ¤

As the cooler months arrive, influenza is spreading through our communities. This can hit hard, especially for our kaumātua, pēpi, hapū māmā and those with underlying health conditions.

If you’re unwell, please stay home, rest, and allow your tinana to heal. Keep up good hygiene practices, wash your hands, cover coughs and sneezes, and keep your spaces clean.

We strongly encourage our whānau to get the flu jab this season.
The flu vaccine is one of the most effective ways to protect yourself and those around you. By getting vaccinated, you’re helping to reduce the spread and keep our whole community safer.

Let’s stand together in care and responsibility protecting our people, our whakapapa, and our future.

He oranga ngākau, he oranga whānau šŸ¤

Kia hiwa rā, kia hiwa rā e te whānau šŸ¤

Our rohe is preparing for the arrival of Cyclone Vaianu. This is a time to come together, stay aware, and look out for one another.

Please take these warnings seriously and begin your preparations now, secure your homes, gather what you need, and check in on your kaumātua, neighbours, and those who may need extra support.

Our marae and community spaces are opening to provide shelter and safety if needed. You are not alone in this.

Let’s move with care, preparedness, and kotahitanga, keeping our whānau safe is the priority.

Aroha atu, aroha mai — stay safe everyone. šŸŒ§ļøšŸ’™

Kia ora e te whānaušŸŒ§ļø

A cyclone is on its way, so it’s important we all take a moment to whakarite (prepare) and look after one another. Keep safe, stay connected, and check in on your people.

To help you get ready:
🐾 Make a plan for your whānau and pets
šŸŒ¬ļø Bring inside or tie down anything that could be picked up by strong winds
🌿 Clear your yard of loose branches, firewood, and debris
šŸ” Check on neighbours, kaumātua, and anyone who may need extra support
šŸ„ Move animals to safe, sheltered areas
šŸŒ§ļø Clear drains so water can flow freely
šŸ”¦ Be prepared with torches, batteries, and a radio to stay updated.

With severe weather possible this weekend, make sure you have a plan .

šŸ˜ļø Decide where you will go if you need to evacuate and make sure everyone in your household knows. Your evacuation place will probably be with friends or family, so make sure they know your plans.

šŸŽ’ Have a grab bag ready for everyone in your household. It should have warm clothes, a bottle of water, snacks, copies of important documents, and photo ID. Remember any medications you may need. Keep your first aid kit, torch, radio and batteries, mobility devices and any other essential supplies somewhere you can grab them in a hurry.

🐈 Before the weather starts, bring pets indoors and move animals to a safe place. Your pets can get unsettled by storms and it is more comforting and safer for them to be with you.

⚔ Prepare for power outages. Fully charge your phones and power banks and check you have data or credit on your phone.
