Thames Birthing Unit The Thames Birthing Unit is a primary birthing facility for natural, low-risk births under midwifery Visiting hours are 11am-1.30pm and 4-8pm daily.

The unit is small and welcoming with a relaxed, homely atmosphere, and is well equipped to support birthing and postnatal women and their whānau.

We are always so grateful for the winter wollies our community provides to keep our new babies toasty!

Come and meet the midwives on International day of the Midwife at TBU on Monday May the 5th 🥰 Our colleagues Taurima Te Pā Harakeke midwives will be there along with staff and local LMC midwives. Come and have a look around, chat and enjoy some light refreshments- 11-1pm :)

Our whānau over at Hapū Wānanga have another wānanga for Hauraki mātua and their whānau coming up this month.

Their next one-day wānanga is being held at Paeroa War Memorial Hall, 144 Normanby Road, Paeroa on Monday 29th July 2024.

Hapū Wānanga provide free kaupapa Māori antenatal education, available to all living in the Waikato rohe.

These wānanga are designed to empower, strengthen, and prepare hapū māmā and their whānau for baby. It covers a range of topics from the stages of labour, birth and breastfeeding to safety for baby, post-natal care, parenting and relationships.

💜 Monday 29th July 2024
💜 9:30am to 3:00pm.
💜 Paeroa War Memorial Hall, 144 Normanby Road, Paeroa

Lunch provided, whānau support welcome.

Glenys and Annelies are both experienced and passionate midwives who will care for you during the antenatal period from the birthing unit and also our Thursday clinic in Paeroa.

Then we have our awesome team of staff midwives who will support you during your labour and birth here at Thames birthing unit!
