I had no idea, did you?? I don't typically use foil for this, but I know a LOT of people do!

Edit: As Barbara Lampshire Anderson commented below, the more accurate phrasing would be that the potatoes COULD become contaminated. This would happen IF the potatoes had botulism spores on them.
