Chris Gray is a Timaru-born General Surgeon. Chris has completed a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience with honours, a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and completed his Fellowship in General Surgery under the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2011. He has been working at Timaru Hospital since 2014 where he is currently the Clinical Director of General Surgery and is a, equal partner, Priv

ate General Surgeon at South Canterbury Surgeons/ Specialists, operating out of Bidwill Hospital. Chris offers a broad range of General Surgery including, but not limited too, investigation of disorders of gastrointestinal health such as laboratory studies, imaging and endoscopy but is also a surgical specialist with almost 10 years consultant work in bowel surgery, hernia repair, skin tumour removal, breast surgery and open or laparoscopic abdominal surgery (for example gallbladder removal). Chris has an specific interest in Gastrointestinal health and combines his knowledge of Neuroscience, Surgery and Nutrition to offer a holistic approach to peoples' health, with an even more specific focus on dietary and environmental factors that cause the common cancers that he deals with; bowel, breast and skin. A gram of prevention is with a kilo of cure. Clinic runs Tuesday's 0900-1200. Surgery Wednesday's 0830-1230 (but may be scheduled at other times to suit).
