🎉 130 years ago today, a single adjustment changed the course of history.

Doctors and researchers had long wondered: Why does one person fall ill while another person with a similar lifestyle stays well? D.D. Palmer found an answer on September 18th, 1895 when he met Harvey Lillard, a janitor who had lost his hearing after feeling a “pop” in his back years earlier.

Palmer examined his spine and found a misalignment reducing nerve flow, which we now call a subluxation. With a precise adjustment, Harvey’s hearing began to return.

That moment revealed something powerful: interference in the spine can affect the body in profound ways. Remove the interference, and the body can function — and even heal — as it was designed.

🌍 This was the birth of chiropractic. Not just pain relief, but a new understanding of health rooted in the body’s own ability to heal itself.

Then D.D. Palmer's son, B.J., became the Developper of Chiropractic, making the profession what it is today. He also became the Founder of the ICA!
