Massive thank you to Raukawa Vibes Dr Fresh for sharing his journey growing up in Tokoroa as a young tane battling through adversity and coming out the other side stronger.

We learnt Mental Health doesn't discriminate it can hit anyone at any time. As Dr Fresh said he was very fortunate his loving partner, family, and his relationship with God got him through.

Some of our tane don't have these relationships or whanau support hence why South Waikato Brothers Collective created our space to be that connection and foundation for our tane to heal, recover, and fight on🙏🏾💓💯

He will share his personal journey, highlighting the challenges he faced growing up in Tokoroa and how his radio station Raukawa FM has provided valuable opportunities for South Waikato brothers Collective to promote mental health awareness across the motu.

South Waikato Brothers Collective had the privilege to support of our local champion Rangatahi from Tokoroa High School paving the way as entrepreneurs bringing awareness to Mental Health Awareness in young people.

We got to understand their WHY and hoe their going to get into the community and share their vision and motto "mental health made comfortable" with young people.

They created a new business with the help of their school teachers "Mindthread" Clothing which is part of their studies into running a company. It's a clothing brand with meaningful quotes written on Hoodies that blends fashion, purpose, and conversations about mental health 🙌🏾💓

Beautiful seeing our SWBC Tane giving back to the community and putting a smile on our Tamariki faces. They were encouraged to stay at school, be kind, listen to their parents, and if they ever needed help or someone to talk too, SWBC will be right beside them, ensuring they get the best support from local Health and Well-being service providers.

Giving purpose to our tane to thrive and be happy internally/ externally 💓🙏🏾

Last week South Waikato Brothers Collective had the privilege of having brother Jeremy HALL from MSD speak to our tane about career pathways, up skilling, and having the right mindset to take on the challenges our community is facing in regards to job losses.

If we can help one tane, that's a win for our brothers 🙌🏾
