Greytown Member of the Month: Congratulations Richard Rice!

A big shout out to Richard for his welcoming energy and friendliness to everyone in the gym. Members highlighted his sense of humour, consistent positivity and supportiveness, recognising him as a true inspiration to those around him!

Both the members and the coaching team know Richard as a dedicated member since the very beginning. He shows up no matter the weather, and has recently started integrating classes into his training where he embraces new challenges and brings a great sense of fun to each session.

Congratulations Richard and thank you for the energy and positivity you bring to our HealthFit community! 🎉

HealthFit Benchmark 1 done and dusted!

We had an awesome turn out last week for our very first HealthFit Benchmark Assessments in both Greytown & Wellington! You all showed up and gave it your best effort, well done! 💪

We are super excited to see how you progress over the coming months. Remember, our classes are designed to help you improve on your initial benchmark results. In those tougher weeks, step outside your comfort zone, challenge yourself with heavier weights or a faster pace! That’s where real growth happens.

For those who can't make it to classes, Josh and Carl have put together a Benchmark Programme which will be available in your app soon! Jump in, give it a go, and let us know how you get on.

And as always, your coaches are here to support you, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out.

We encourage you to try and learn a new word and share it with your coach or training partners. Give it a go in the gym, whether it’s a greeting, a thank you or a message of support to your friends and fam!

It’s time to put your hard work to the test. Our Testing Week kicks off Monday, 8th September and runs right through the week.

In Wellington: We’ll be holding five dedicated testing sessions for you to book into:
Session 1: Monday 8th Sept 6:45am
Session 2: Monday 8th Sept 5:45pm
Session 3: Wednesday 10th Sept 6:15am
Session 4: Wednesday 10th Sept 5:45pm
Session 5: Saturday 13th Sept 10:00am

In Greytown:

Session 2: Tuesday 9th Sept 6am

Last week the HealthFit team and the Physio team at WSM Group got together for an in-service led by our Coach on running mechanics and returning to running after injury.

The workshop drew on current research around common running injuries and covered key areas such as biomechanics, identifying discrepancies, and strategies for safe return to running.

With Riley’s strong background as both a physiotherapist and competitive runner, the session was packed with valuable insights and take-aways.

Riley rounded it out with a practical component, the demonstrations helped bring the theory to life, showing how to observe supportive exercises in real time and highlighting what to look for when assessing movement.

We had a fantastic turnout at our Greytown Winter Warmer Workshop this week - thank you to everyone who came along and got involved!

There were some great discussions with Carl around supplementation - what to take, how, and why. Mish got us thinking deeper about the importance of nutrition, recovery, training, and social connection as we age and what changes we could look to make to improve these areas of our wellbeing. And we rounded out with an engaging presentation with Greig, who shared some practical strategies on behaviour change, habits, and the role identity plays in shaping them.

And of course, a huge thank you to those who brought along kai to share - we definitely have some hidden chefs in our community! 🤩
