Still one of my all-time favourite pics, sums me up, beach curls, boho dress, glass of vino, the ugly carpet isn't me though that's a hotel in New Plymouth!
Welcome to everyone new to my page.
I am Hails, the normal naturopath, mum of two girls, wife to Karl, cat lover, runner, walker, food, and vino lover specialising in women, children, and teens wellness.
My approach is to teach my clients how to thrive in the modern world, using herbal and nutritional medicine, food, movement, rest and sunlight.
I am almost 46 years old and feel a higher sense of vitality than I did in my early 20s.
I believe that everyone should have access to excellent wellness, hence the hours of work I share on this page. I absolutely adore helping people achieve vitality.
One thing that people get stuck on with wellness is the all or nothing approach. I am here to help you abandon the notion that wellness is about hardship and perfection. I did it! Date, ginger and fejioa loaf. It's gluten free, minimal sugar, lots of fibre and protein, perfect texture, absolutely stunning warm with lashings of butter.
I wish my dad was alive to enjoy this.
So much goes into creating my nourishing recipes. Sometimes I fail. This is attempt number 3 and it's epic.

SAD aka seasonal affective disorder is a thing!
My mood will instantly drop if there are too many grey days in a row!
Vitamin D can help in many ways. I find it particularly helpful with mood.
In my perfect fantasy world I would pack up and live in ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น over the NZ winter sadly at this point in time, that's not an option, so I shall continue to eat butter, Greek yoghurt, ๐Ÿ„ and ๐Ÿง€ and continue to ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ and ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ in the ๐ŸŒž when it's around.
I will also stock my wellness cupboard with an excellent practitioner brand D3 and K2 spray which is easy for the whole family to take as and when required.
We all use magnesium in this house one way or another, so that part is covered. Topical applications of magnesium are excellent for children who are unable to swallow capsules or who dislike magnesium powder ( that's me, I can't stand the powder).
Wellness requires being prepared, stock your cupboards now, get your cold/cough/immune remedies made by me now so you have them on hand for the first sign of a sniffle.

The perfect Autumn salad. Salads to me are life they help to keep me glowing and thriving all year round.
Roasted root veggies, spinach and pure pork sausage work so well together, this salad is such a hormone supportive salad packed with nutrients to support progesterone and testosterone as well as gut health.

Seeing as you all love my nourishing sweet treats here's one more.
My raspberry caramel oaty.
Please be aware that if you eat any of my slices in excess, this will defeat the purpose! Just because they are more nourishing than regular baking, you still need to exercise caution. I certainly do not sit around eating slices all day every day. However, when you are active and you are in your hormone feasting phase, these slices are an excellent addition to a balanced nourishment plan. Hang on to the last bit of summer with this stunning Chipotle prawn and mango salad.
Such a hormone super salad, nourishing the thyroid with those prawns bringing the iodine and zinc.
๐Ÿฅญfor vitamin C to help your beautiful body make progesterone.
๐Ÿ’š greens for magnesium, another nutrient to support progesterone production, sleep, and calming. And of course, greens and other raw salad goodies support liver function, which is, of course, essential for oestrogen metabolism and a strong thyroid.
๐Ÿฅ‘ some nourishing fat to keep blood sugar levels stable and provide vitamin E to support progesterone production.
Red ๐ŸŒฐ for quercitin, which is a compound I like to call nature's anti histamine.
The way I feed myself is the most crucial part of my hormone supporting plan. You can see what this one salad offers. Food really can be medicine, which is fantastic considering how many opportunities we have each day to eat!!!
