As the years progress I slowly learn to appreciate the gift of massage more and more. Our bodies hold onto stress. We each hold it differently, some people hold it in their shoulders, others their lower back, some people even carry stress in strange places like their ankles or forearms. When our muscles become knotted this prevents blood from circulating, therefore the cells in those areas are starved of oxygen. These knots gradually get tighter and tighter until it eventually causes our body to become deformed as we age.
In a massage, I break these knotted muscles, this allows lymphatic drainage. Many people are walking around all swollen simply because the fluid in their body is trapped in their fascia. I’ve watched miracles happen many times. My mother for one had her first massage with me and in the morning when she awoke she found her ankles again which had been lost for many years. I’ve also worked with those who had a pretty bad hunch back, in the morning they woke up and hit their head on the door frame because the massage had straightened them out to be a few cm taller. I have many more tales I could tell about the power of massage. Combine that with the power of the many essential oils I use which goes in through the blood stream to induce deep internal healing. Very powerful, like I said as a practitioner I learn to appreciate it more as I see first hand how it helps the people I work with
