Thousands more Kiwis can now access free bowel screening from age 58 – helping save lives! 💜💚

If you’d like to find out more information or talk about the testing process, please give us call, we’re here to answer any pātai you may have.

If you’re not eligible for the free screening, you can still organise a test through your GP if you’re concerned about your bowel health or have any symptoms such as:

• Change of bowel motions/habits that come and go over several weeks
• Bleeding from the bottom (re**al bleeding)
• Anaemia
• Severe persistent or periodic abdominal pain
• A lump or mass in the abdomen
• Tiredness and loss of weight for no obvious reason

Symptoms may come and go so please don’t wait if you have any of these concerns, no matter what age you are. When caught early, bowel cancer is 90% curable!

Spots are available for the next Building Awesome Whānau!

Building Awesome Whānau is a free wānanga full of practical ideas and encouraging stories to help anyone raising tamariki aged 2 - 13 years.

The kaupapa is based on principles and values drawn from mātauranga Māori, including tikanga and te reo Māori.

Delivered through a wellbeing lens, key concepts in the course include the mana and tapu of tamariki, with significant emphasis placed on aroha, manaakitanga and whanaungatanga.

Building Awesome Whānau offers a safe and non–judgmental environment so you can reflect and explore opportunities for positive change to help you and your whānau.

This is a virtual appointment with a clinician, and they’re available from 8am – 8pm. They can privately and securely help treat most medical needs, sicknesses or injuries and provide treatment and prescriptions direct to your preferred pharmacy.

Influenza (Flu) jabs will be available from Wednesday 1 April at both Tui Ora medical centres in Whaitara and Ngāmotu.

Give us a call to book during the month of April at the following times to receive the vaccination.

Hauora ā-Whānau Whaitara:
Monday 2.30 – 4.30pm
Tuesday 2.30 – 4.30pm
Wednesday 9.30 – 11.30 & 5.00pm – 6.30pm
Thursday 1.30 – 3.30pm
Friday 9.30 – 11.30am

Hauora ā-Whānau Ngāmotu:
Monday: 2.00pm – 4.00pm
Tuesday: 2.00pm – 4.00pm
Wednesday: 10.00am - 12.00pm
Thursday: 2.00pm – 4.00pm
Friday: 9.30am -11.30am

At these clinics you can also receive the Covid-19 booster vaccination too.

The flu jab is free for anyone over 65 years, if you're hapū or have serious health conditions / long term illness / mental health challenges. If you're not eligible for a free vaccine, it is $32.00 per person.
