Sometimes I’m all contemplative and thinking mysteriously about each and every historical, present and future occurrence that occurs on planet Earth at every milisecond to each one of us and all the rest of the strangers that we’ll never meet and what it all means and how I could possibly make it better for myself and others and then sometimes I’m just a little pea in the sunshine with not many thoughts at all.

Being a pea feels more productive because I’m just there in it, in the appreciation of my aliveness and not calculating how to better be alive.

I just hope everyone has this vivid sense that they’re alive and how good that is despite the rough edges and giant gashes life fires at us - even reading an Instagram post can bring that šŸŒžšŸ§”

Connecting to the inner child simply means connecting to the time and place where you were uninhibited by external sources and ideas on how to be in the world.

The inner child is a place of IS and BE.

Not should, could, would - or do and do not.

The one who knew what she loved to do and did it without doubt, fear, comparison or a second thought.

I love looking at these old pics and videos at my own innocent intelligence (that’s always been there) where that energy is incredibly vibrant and dominant, it reminds me of what I really am at the core, not the stuff I’ve constructed over time so I can feel like I somehow fit into whatever I’ve been trying to fit into.

The fact I’ve got to share this journey with another special soul for all of her life only amplifies my love for reconnecting to this place. So much love loves there!!!

When we connect to this place, we remember and remind ourselves of simply being alive without condition or permission. To live in FUN and in presence.

Here lie the clues about what our souls really love, what did you naturally do as a kid and why did you stop doing it?! These clues when reconnected with and brought into our adult life can bring in a whole bunch of inspiration to track forward in powerful ways.

When it comes to an illness, we are generally only perceiving and diagnosing it on the physical and chemical planes because that is where it is ā€œmeasurableā€ and ā€œtangibleā€ to our human senses and understanding this far.

We can’t directly prove (yet) that an intangible concept such as emotions and thoughts is the cause of our physical illness.

But we can directly experience it.

For me personally I have been seeing and using alternative, esoteric and somewhat ā€œwoo wooā€ healers, doctors, practitioners for many years and the stuff they have done on a mental/emotional/spiritual/other level has manifested itself in the physical and chemical planes also. I am living, breathing proof.

For example; I’ve always struggled to express myself to the full extent of who I am, I had some mad throat pains earlier this year which I took my body to be nudging me to heal this blocked throat. I intentionally sat and focused on my centre of expression and how I want that to look while simultaneously clearing any perceived blockages or past traumas I had around using my voice.

The pain left as quickly as it came on.

Now I’m speaking at near full capacity and even recording meditations and voiceovers.

Dig that little bit deeper.

If your methods to solve health problems are purely physical and chemical i.e. doctors, physio, medication, diet, supplements and you still aren’t getting results, it just means perhaps there’s more to the picture than what you can measure or observe visually. And there are plenty of people who can help you on these other levels.

That’s REAL holistic practice, considering all angles and looking at the human as the unique puzzle that they are, no more ā€œone size fits allā€.

If you try something and it FEELS better then keep doing it?! If it’s not helping you (after a decent attempt and responsibly following the practitioners advice) then stop and try something else.

Meditation. There are many ways to peel a banana, many ways to meditate. Your uniqueness may be more receptive to sound, more receptive to vision, more receptive to mantra, more receptive to bodily sensation.

Hands down the best thing I ever started doing. Not saying it’s for everyone or that it’s the only way up the mountain but by golly do I believe it would help any human who gave it a decent shot. Who pushed through that niggly bit at the start where the mind won’t have a bar of this ā€œsitting and doing nothingā€. Lemme tell ya right now, your mind is a liar šŸ˜‚

I dabbled when I was 22, kept dabbling, not really thinking I was doing it right or that it was helping and here (and in many other sits) in this image I sit on my grandparents floor and it hits me.

My own attention to my own attention is what brought me to this moment - to wanting to meditate, to wanting to know myself intimately, to wanting to understand the mysteries of the universe and of myself.

I look forward to this practise as I see it deep into everything I do beyond my sitting time.

Meditation has taken me to places my weathered hiking feet couldn’t have.

Meditation has given me tools the finest engineers couldn’t craft.

Meditation has given me the gift of understanding that everything is a gift.

It helps me wake up properly to my day and fall asleep lovingly to my nights.

The reason you can’t heal fully is because the human body has invisible fields (to the human eye - we are now starting to measure this in science) that hold information and continue to feed and express it in the physical field - because it is the most dense and obvious.

Feeling the deep frustration of not getting answers from your health professionals is because they’re looking at one slither of the diverse and expansive human that you are.

What works for some, doesn’t work for others.

"What you do to your body, you do to the planet and what you do to the planet, you do to your body"

People say "shop around the edges of the supermarket" to avoid all the processed stuff in the middle but I would suggest not using the supermarket at all.

This is a really radical statement I am totally aware of this - I definitely still use the supermarket from time to time. However, hear me out, when we buy local and organic we keep the energetic and the economical value localised, we reduce emissions, support our community and disempower the larger corporations who are basically feeding you chemical and plastic covered crap.

Everything good about food is significantly reduced in large, commercial monocrop organisations.

There is no biodiversity therefore little microbiome in the soil and a lack of minerals and nutrients overall. So.... here are some better options:

Grow your own food
Get your hands and lungs out in the garden, this is extremely good for mental and microbiome health (which feeds into gut health and immunity).

Support Farmers Markets
Reduce the miles your food travels to get to you and eat foods grown in the same climate as your body lives in - this makes food easier to assimilate and digest.

Buy from local organic retailers
These guys are trying to increase their exposure to demand so that the supply can be larger, therefore the cost drops. You are voting with your dollar here and I know it's hard to part from.

Do some research!
Understanding food and what goes in is directly what builds up the vessel that you are that creates every other experience you have.

Eat mindfully, slowly and with other people
We have evolved alongside food and it's intricate cycles for millenia, the least we can do is appreciate the journey the food has been on to get into our bellies.

Your body is either fighting or using what you put into your system. Choose with care!

To be human is to feel.

To suppress those feelings is to invoke some self and society created bulls**t upon ourselves that blocks us from who we really are.

Pain is intelligent, it is a signal from the body to do something.

Instead of avoiding the pain, we must learn to face and feel it, when we really feel it great insight is gained and we now know what to do with it.

Love it.

Love this aspect of yourself that is actually now teaching us how to love even more, even though we want to run away, hide or punch the pain in the face.

Love the pain because it is a teacher, a helper in disguise, a pressure that lead you to healing, an old energy that can be transformed into new vibrant energy for your greatest expansion as a human being

There has been ENERGY. Energy is the driving force of our avo on toast, awkward conversations, playing tennis. It is the driving force of our tiredness, our sadness, our love and everything else in between. It is the driving force to all of life so of course we should know about it and how to harness it.

What are the biggest doors to MAX energy? (note: it's not food)
Water Light Air
These 3 conditions are required by the body ALL OF THE TIME, therefore they are paramount to the function of our energy exchanges in our bodies and with the rest of life.

Drink water from Nature (i.e. not town water)
We have evolved to consume a certain water structure, town water is definitely not that and has not so friendly additives.

Sync your sleep up with the light. Sink with the sun, rise with the sun.
This crucial timing tells all of our cells and organs when to be active and when to rest throughout the day and night.

Breathe good, clean air and breathe deeply.

We are a household of utter miracles.
Energetic flow and exchanges.
Chemical swimmers.
Protein builders.
Invisible words in our minds as thoughts.
Pooers of toxins.
Breathers of waste.

Imagine if we lived in a world where we spent even just a smidgin of the trillions of dollars spent on external allopathic medications (I'm not saying be damned with all medicine) and taught people how to proactively assist the internal miraculous workings of what the human body ALREADY HAS.

I decided to stop going to the doctor at 17 when he told me I was "obese" for my age group. I thought to myself then "well if he can't use his own two eyes to discern what a healthy person looks like but chooses to use a chart to categorise me, how's this guy gonna use his brain to help me with what I'm experiencing". (I am sure he was well qualified, as are all doctors in their fields but the system of thinking taught me a grand lesson).

Since then I have been on a rampage to find people who.....
1. care
2. observe intelligently
3. know their s**t
4. encourage you to work through things yourself so you don't become dependent upon external resources.

Resources are exactly that, something to use when you can't work it out for yourself. Someone who has the expertise and the drive to get to the cause of what you are experiencing, not to merely address symptoms.

I hope you find the doctor or healer that encourages you to locate the one within.

How to explore your own Truth? Question your experiences, get curious.

What is my reality?
Does it match my thinking?
What is my actual EXPERIENCE of this?
What is my body saying about this?
Does my gut and heart agree?

Both the body and the Earth are fluctuating systems of continuous, adaptive movement. Nothing has ever been fixed and permanent so why should our thinking and beliefs?

Information is usually regurgitated information coming from a fixed and biased source. Learn what confirmation bias is, learn what awareness is, learn what being humble to your own ego is.

Can you let go? Can you change and accept new ways of thinking?

Rigidity has got to leave.

Dynamic adaptation and the ability to learn with an open heart are paramount to our best existence yet.

Hello wonderful people,

It’s been a wild ride for the past few months so no dilly dallying around. Let's cut straight to the chase!

There has been a rapid increase in anxiety, fear and mental chaos with who is walking through my door. People are coming in many forms and each story is vastly different. It seems we are globally confused about which way is up and down, left and right.

If you are having any of these experiences:

- Strange feelings and old memories are rising to the surface
- You can’t quite put a finger on the way you are feeling
- You don’t feel yourself at the moment
- You struggle to feel sensations, lack of smell, sight, pain, touch etc.
- Tight jaw, shoulders and back pain
- You have extremely low energy
- You can’t switch off and relax
- A sense of loneliness and isolation
- You are lashing out or expressing intense behaviour that feels out of your control
- Thoughts like ā€œEverything is so serious and tenseā€
- Frustration with particular groups of people
- Feel strongly that you are right and others are wrong

This is completely OK, normal and you are not alone.

These experiences are asking for your attention, they are deep aspects of you asking to be dealt with properly with powerful intention. Once healed, they no longer create the experiences above. You feel more free, live lighter, grow rapidly and evolve exponentially.

I am offering that space to heal, to create significant change and bring personal power and lightness back into living through deep exploration, fun and creativity.

I am offering something new, an approach a little off the cuff. It is specific to you. In times like these we have to be creative in our process to obtain new solutions against the new problems we face.

If you live at a distance, that is fine, I can still offer help or point you in the right direction.

This healing ultimately is not about me or what I can do. Rather, you help yourself first with the willingness to seek help and second to commit to an exploration of the depths of yourself and what creates your suffering.

If there is anything of the utmost importance at this point in time, it is to look very carefully at ourselves as individuals and as a collective. We have to experientially and viscerally understand, then learn the creation of new behavioural, mental, societal and global change for the better - as soon as imaginably possible.

If you are ready and willing to dive deep, this is for you. It may be hard, it may be uncomfortable but you will know the worth when you’re dancing and laughing freely down the streets with plenty of good energy for yourself and others.

Ever considered those two little holes on the bottom of your nose to be gateways to a calmer body entirely?

Well! Have I got some great news for you!

One of the largest parts of our diet is the air we breathe - even more so than food.

Breath enters the body all day and all night. Over time our food has gotten softer and has caused a collapse in our breathing systems in the face, we have to actively build up these muscles and clear the airways by practising better breathing.

Quick hack: The best place to start is by breathing through the nose whenever you can, this filters and warms the air that enters our lungs making it easier for absorption at the lungs.
This causes a soothing response to the nervous system and a decrease in demand of oxygen that is usually required in a stress response (this is created when we mouth breathe). It can feel blocked and hard to do for a while when we make this habit change, however over time better breathing begets clearer sinuses and nasal passages - totally worth the small struggle for the whole body benefits!

Book recommendation: Breath - James Nestor
This book was a game changer for me, now I can run and workout like a beast! Not really, but definitely significantly better than back in my mouth breathing days ;) it's also my tool when I encounter anything stressful, my brain has learned to interject and say "3 deep nasal breaths Shazza and then respond". To work with our mental state of health we have to understand what is the main driver.

Thoughts. What is a thought? A great thing to ponder and commence the inquiry of the mind.

How can I observe those thoughts gently and learn the behaviours and fluctuations of thinking instead of being swept away? Thoughts drive how we react, make sense of the world and how we ultimately behave.

3 key practices for mental stimulation

#1 Meditation: I've noticed both within myself and my peers a sense of deep peace and capacity to switch on the calm when there is chaos. It takes, practice, patience, dedication, time and a willing spirit to know that this is by far one of the most beneficial tools you can learn for yourself. Not only do you enhance your experience and your mental health, this feeds into your emotions and energetic state on the daily.

#2 Focus: Engage in something new or hard that causes you to focus completely on that activity. Get creative! Focus soars the skies in paragliding and crunches the numbers in Sudokus. If it's fun, you are far more likely to engage and FOCUS creating a longer and clearer attention span. This can decrease memory, brain fog and lack of concentration.

#3 Breathe: Slow down and breathe deeper, this turns on the parasympathetic nervous system, expands our optic potential (our pupils let in more information as we relax) and delivers more goodness to the brain.

Your mind is a wonderful tool if you can learn how to handle and harness it's incredible power!

Get your laser beams ON!

Meditation is an opportunity in every encounter of your experience, ripe for the picking.

The best way to meditate is to meditate, simply sit and focus on your breath, watch your thoughts enter and leave like a river flowing past you, don't jump in and float along with them. Come back to the riverside, sit with the breath and learn from the lessons silence eventually has to give you.

These words usually float to me in meditation. Usually among seas of garbage that are full of absurdity. Learn to sift through and respect the trash of the mind because the little nugget of gold you find is worth the hunt through the dumpster.

Meditation is meditation when you have the intention to put some focus inside of yourself. Thoughts will definitely be there, silly, dark, stupid, boring, profound, exciting or otherwise. You are to learn to simply watch them and notice patterns or movement of the mind.

I was possibly the most resistant and largest disbeliever in this practise on the planet when I began but I had the drive to sit, learn and understand with this knowing that it was all going somewhere good. Good is the largest understatement I could insult this practise with. It is by far the most beneficial gift I have given myself in this lifetime!

According to the linguistic history of exercise there are 2 sides to this coin!

A simple bridge between these 2 statements is where the balance lies. Having the discipline and effort to make time for yourself to do some movement that is FUN.

Fun is absolutely key!! You are far more likely to stick to something that increases your happiness than something that feels like a chore.

Incorporate movement that brings joy to your body and elevates your state of mind and increases a whole bunch (if not all) of your bodily functions.

Exercise creates:
more vasodilation (opening of capillaries to deliver blood) and oxygen to cells, tissues, organs and most importantly the noggin.
An increase in the happy hormones - dopamine and serotonin
Stress reduction
Clarity
Longevity
Healthy body composition
Reduced storage of fat around organs and muscles reducing pressure on their function so you feel lighter.
I could go on but it's 2021 and everyone knows exercise is bloody good stuff.

So rip into it!

Frisbee, swim, dance with your hairbrush mic, whatever you feel compelled to do. Make sure it brings a smile too :)

Did you know....

There is not one organism on the planet that doesn't shut their eyes and radically change their brain activity within a 24 hour cycle! It has been found that every animal or insect has some form of sleep.

Dolphins even sleep one half of their brain at a time so they can keep swimming!

We sleep so that we can heal. Our brain does not "turn off" - in fact it's extremely busy while we have the lids closed.

If we have low quality sleep, we naturally find it hard to function the next day. It changes how our day plays out and how we experience that day.

If we wake up refreshed and revitalised, we are far more likely to go out for a walk, do some movement or tend to ourselves first thing in the morning "before the workday starts". This good quality sleep followed by one small habit can change the entire quality and quality of choices of our day ahead and this seeps into your whole life quality.

So what helps you sleep deeply?

Exercise
Mental stimulation
Slow deep breaths throughout the day
Hydration (so the processes that take place at night can work their best)
Keep in sync with your circadian rhythm (light/dark cycle).
Reduction of artificial light/exposure to sunlight.
Slow stretching and meditation
Magnesium

Stare at something and watch your thoughts parade and march in front of your experience with the object, see if you can look without thinking about what you are looking at, feel the interaction of absorbing what's coming into your eyes and into your brain.

Breathe deeply, see clearly, simplify and calm the minds chatter.
