Fasting can be a helpful tool in some situations, but it’s not the magic fix it’s often made out to be.

I’m all for a 12 hour overnight fast, that’s perfect for most people to support digestion and blood sugar, it’s the prolonged fasting I’m honing in on here.

But it gave you energy? Yep that’s cortisol.

Fasting isn’t a wellness trend that works for everyone, especially if you’re navigating hormone concerns, high stress or struggling with low energy.

✨ For premenopausal women, fasting can disrupt hormone balance, increase cortisol (stress hormone) and often make symptoms worse!

✨ Probiotics + Prebiotics = The dream team for your gut health! ✨

Probiotics are the lovely gut bacteria themselves, where prebiotics are the fibres which feed these good guys!

Prebiotics are an absolutely game changer for your gut health long term and in my option are often way too overlooked as part of your gut health picture. Prebiotics are the star to increase and create an abundant rainforest of good bacteria in your gut 🌿🌼🌳

I’ve seen amazing changes in clinic utilising the right prebiotics for the right condition. BUT not all prebiotics are for everyone especially those with IBS symptoms, be aware not all prebiotics are your friend right now (want to avoid that dreaded bloat!) e.g. be mindful around dosing size of onions, garlic, apple and certain prebiotics supplements like Inulin which can wreak havoc with the bloat!
