As 2025 winds down, I want to share one of my annual rituals 🔮

Not a “new year, new you” push.
Not another goal-setting worksheet.
Just a chance to pause and reflect.

I’ve created a 2025 Reflect & Reset Exercise to help you:

🎉 celebrate what went well
💡 make sense of the lessons
🤝 reconnect with what matters
👟 step into 2026 with clarity

Take your time with it.
Come back to it.
Let it meet you where you are.

Because you deserve a thoughtful ending to 2025

And a grounded beginning to 2026.

My mantra for the year ahead:
2026: the year that (almost) everything clicks 🌟

“We’re now weaving wellbeing into everything we do. It’s no longer an afterthought, it’s integral to business as usual" - Megan Elmiger, GM People, Safety & Marine.

Meet CentrePort Wellington.

When they started their Wellbeing Tick Accreditation, they committed to moving beyond token gestures and designed a workplace culture where every team member feels supported and included.

From wharf‑workers to office staff, everyone now has a voice and genuine access to wellbeing support and resources.

Healthy work boundaries aren’t just a “nice idea” — they’re essential for your wellbeing and productivity.

At this week’s Creating Healthy Life-Work Boundaries workshop, participants committed to some simple but powerful changes:

✅Removing work email from their personal phones
✅Taking real lunch breaks
✅Blocking focused work hours
✅Saying no to tasks outside their role
✅Honouring intuition…and more

Setting boundaries isn’t about being less committed.

It’s about working smarter, protecting your energy, and putting your wellbeing first.

💡 Curious how you could start building better boundaries today?

Send me a message and let’s explore what could work for you.

I keep seeing it everywhere – health, safety AND wellbeing.

In job ads, role descriptions, and sometimes in strategies… but usually as a decorative extra. A shiny word to make things look progressive.

A NZ organisation I spoke with recently realised they’d fallen into the same pattern I’m seeing across the country:

➡️ Using “wellbeing” but not defining it
➡️ Taking a token or glorified approach
➡️ Running ad hoc initiatives and calling it a strategy

Here’s the real question:
What does wellbeing actually mean in the context of Health and Safety?

Most workplaces still can’t answer that.

A good place to start is the psychological and mental health side of Health and Safety. WorkSafe’s psychosocial risk guidelines, the Health and Safety at Work Act, ISO 45003 and Aussie regulations all say the same thing:

Work can significantly impact our mental and psychological health – and employers have obligations to protect people.

This isn’t optional or a passing trend.

We’ve spent decades perfecting physical safety systems.
It’s time to apply that same discipline to psychological health and wellbeing.

If your team name or job title includes “wellbeing”, pause before posting that Seek ad and ask:

❓What does wellbeing mean in our organisation?
❓Where does it sit in our H&S and People strategies?
❓What capability and experience do we actually need?
❓What responsibilities belong to the wellbeing component?

Getting this right supports thriving people, better performance and sustainable productivity.

If you want help defining wellbeing in your workplace – and building it strategically rather than symbolically – book an intro chat with me.

✨ PUTTING WELLBEING FIRST ✨

📅 Thursday 20 November, 6PM
📍 The Green Room Flower Company, Three Parks

It’s undeniable that work can be stressful — and as small business owners or sole traders, the pressure can feel relentless. The hustle culture tells us that long hours and doing anything for our customers is the only way to succeed.

But there’s another way 💡

Join me, Philly Powell, for an empowering, workshop-style Power Hour with the Wānaka Business Women — a midweek reset designed to help you shift from burnout to balance and from overwhelm to intentional living.

You’ll explore how to:
💫 Set healthy work boundaries
💫 Reclaim your time and energy
💫 Redefine success with the mantra:
“Wellbeing first, work second. Always.”

NEW EPISODE 🎙️Is Welldoing the new Wellbeing?

I loved Nicola King's response to my question on what can we do in the workplace to support sustainability...

"Sustainability literally means future viability.
It should just be your way of running a business.
If you want to be viable in the future, then you just need to act sustainably."

Who also agrees??

Makes complete sense when it's explained that simply doesn't it?

I loved this interview for the Wellbeing Provocateur Podcast with Nicola - Sustainable Advocate, Systems Thinker, Local Councillor and Creator of In Good Nic - to explore the concept of welldoing.

Many of us are familiar with self-care and personal wellbeing, but how can we take it a step further to create real impact in the world?

Nicola shares her journey from growing up in Wānaka, completing a Sustainability in Business Master’s, creating the Sustainable Ladies community, and recently being elected to the local council.

Here's a preview of some of the things we dove into...

💚 What welldoing means and how it extends personal wellbeing outward
💚 How small conscious actions ripple out into meaningful change
💚 The importance of curiosity, consciousness, and empathy in sustainability
💚 Habit stacking to integrate wellbeing and sustainability into everyday life
💚 Real-life examples of social, environmental, and economic actions making a difference
💚 How sustainability translates to more viable businesses
💚 Practical tips for getting started, staying inspired, and making welldoing accessible and enjoyable

If you’re ready to move beyond self-care and explore how your actions and your workplace can create a positive impact for people, the planet, and society, this conversation is for you.

🎧 Listen, reflect, and start your journey of welldoing today 🙌
