Outside the clinic, she’s usually taxiing her teenagers around, walking her dogs at the beach, or tending to her veggie garden.

Meet Johnny 👋

We are thrilled to welcome Johnny, our newest addition to the team!!

Originally from Ireland (yes - that means there’ll now be two of us Irish in the clinic! ☘️), Johnny completed his degree in Athletic & Rehabilitation Therapy at Athlone before going on to earn his Master’s in Physiotherapy from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh.

Johnny brings a wealth of experience from working with elite athletes, sports teams, and everyday movers, always using evidence‑based assessment and treatment to help people return to sport, activity, and life, feeling stronger, more capable, and more confident.

He has a special interest in:
• ACL injuries & rehab
• Hamstring injuries
• Running performance + return‑to‑run pathways

When he’s not in the clinic, you’ll usually find him out running 🏃‍♂️ or lifting in the gym 🏋‍♂️ - practising exactly what he teaches.

We can’t wait for you to meet him and experience his energy, expertise, and genuine care for helping people move well.

Honest post… my heart is a little sad today 🩵

As some of you know, this week is Katie’s last with us. She joined six months ago to help us out temporarily, and now she’s off to shine in her actual field of expertise.

For those who’ve met her — and for us who’ve worked alongside her — you’ll know what an absolute gem she is. So efficient, so helpful, and truly one of the most on-to-it people I’ve ever worked with!

I know she’s my sister (though I bet you couldn’t tell 😉), but after nearly 20 years in this game, I can honestly say she’s one of the best.

Thank you, sis, for your hard work, dedication, and the joy you’ve brought to this team. You’re a total rockstar — and we will miss seeing you every day! 💫🩵✨️

It was great to be part of the Snap Fitness reopening on Saturday!

We ran grip strength, balance, and performance testing throughout the morning - giving members a clearer picture of their current strength levels and overall symmetry.

🏋️‍♀️Grip strength isn’t just about your hands - it’s now considered a biomarker of health. This simple, non-invasive test reflects muscular, cardiovascular, and metabolic function, and is strongly linked to overall health status.

📊 Lower grip strength is associated with increased risk of:
• Type 2 diabetes
• Cardiovascular disease
• Stroke
• Chronic kidney and liver disease
• Certain cancers
• Osteoporosis and sarcopenia
• Even higher mortality risk in aging populations

A 2024 study found that grip strength below certain thresholds is linked to reduced physical health and quality of life (34.75 kg for men, 23.2 kg for women).

By comparing side-to-side differences, we can also identify early signs of imbalance - often before they lead to discomfort or limitations in training.

It was awesome to see so many people interested in understanding how their bodies move and perform.

A big thanks to the Snap Fitness team for having us along. We loved being part of such an energetic and community-focused day.
