What are the Support at Home HM-AT Funding changes in Australia?

Under the Support at Home program, funding for home modifications is capped at $15,000 for life – and that includes bathroom remodels. For many participants, $15K barely scratches the surface of what’s needed to create a safe, accessible bathroom. A full remodel can cost double that, leaving people to either top up from their own savings or compromise on safety. And – being a lifetime cap – there is no more!
By contrast, the Assistive Technology (AT) cap – also set at $15K nominally – can be exceeded if there’s a prescribed need. This flexibility doesn’t exist for home modifications.
