We are very proud of our data storyteller Habershon whose graph about Aotearoa politics made the front cover of The Financial Times!

Sarah was one on a handful of people awarded with a 2-month internship at the Financial Times which she started last week.

It is awesome to know that other countries care about what is happening in Aotearoa! We are excited to see what you do next Habershon

Thank you Ruth Bader Ginsberg. We will keep pushing the mahi you led in your country here in Aotearoa.

Kia hora te marino, kia whakapapa pounamu te moana, kia tere te kārohirohi i mua i tō huarahi.
May peace be widespread, may the sea glisten like greenstone, and may the shimmer of light guide you on your way.

Very important reminder today Aotearoa of what it means to be part of a civilised culture (in an anthropological sense).
Worth sharing.

Last year FrankAdviceAdvice took the team to Auckland for a few day of celebration after what we thought was a big year for our team (2020 has changed that assumption).

Auckland hosted us, ladies, with such grace and delight that hearing the news last night was upsetting. Seeing such a vibrant, warm city go back into level 3 is tough.

To all our Auckland friends such as - Hustle & Bustle Belong YWCA Auckland Rainbow Tick Tamaki Makaurau Haupoi Maori Auckland DHB and the many more organisations we have connected with, Frank Advice are sending all our aroha to you and your whanua in Tāmaki Makaurau. Please let us know if there is anything Frank Advice can do to support you.

For now we thought this picture, taken on our 2019 Auckland trip, of CE Emily Mason Consultant Caitlin Sowden previous office manager, Cilla Farrance (who is now a superstar in another awesome kiwi company Trade Me) Renee Graham and Rebecca Barnes-Clarke from the Ministry for Women, New Zealand, New Zealand would bring a smile to you all as it did us.

Kia Kaha team.

With some sadness, but also excitement, FrankAdvice is proud to announce that our Policy Director, Hannah Kerr is joining the Ministry of Health - Manatū Hauora. While we are sad to be saying goodbye to Hannah, we feel humbled that she chose to be with us for 2 years and that her next step moves her forward on her career journey.

Hannah, your contribution to our business and culture allowed us to create an environment where quality work was produced because we all felt safe to share our ideas and learn from each other. We have shared laughs and frustrations, undertaken A-M-A-Z-I-N-G policy analysis tackling some of Aotearoa’s biggest social issues, in a values-based way. We are proud that while you are leaving us, you showcase the style of values-based leadership FrankAdvice encourages.

We are delighted that James Poskitt and the Ministry of Health - Manatū Hauora recognise the immense contribution you will make to both the work produced, and also how it is done. We know you will be a role model for a new way of working for many of your new colleagues.

Go forth into the public sector with the kindness and rigour you always have shown here.

Tūrangawaewae – a place to stand

"E kore au e ngaro, he kākano i ruia mai i Rangiātea. I shall never be lost, I am a seed sown from Rangiātea.”

FrankAdvice does not expect nor want staff to change themselves to “fit into” our organisation. We value the unique qualities each person brings and believe that having different people tackle a problem enhances our work. This amazing group of ladies has created a culture of belonging that allows us to stand in our workplace as our full-selves.

We are proud to have joined Zoe Brownlie's community - Belong A place where we can learn from and share our experience with other organisations wanting to build and maintain a place of belonging at work.

If creating a sense of belonging in your workplace is something you are interested in, join us.belong

Did you know that Volunteer Centres around the country have lots of volunteers that are available at the moment to help community organisations? They help people who want to volunteer connect directly with volunteer opportunities within community organisations. Learn more on our site: https://www.volunteeringnz.org.nz/covid-19-actions/

From there you can register to volunteer, find a volunteer centre near you or an online volunteer recruitment site.
