Draw It Out offers 1.5hr drawing for wellness workshops around Wellington and the Hutt Valley, facilitated by Lara Phillips. Trained in Interactive Drawing Therapy, I guide you through cues (a bit like journalling or meditation) to draw out where you are at, and draw out your inner guidance. This isn't therapy (more self-care). This is a safe space to build the relationship with yourself, tap into your unconscious, and access the inner guidance you need. MY JOURNEY
Alongside my career as a creative copywriter in the design industry, I use creative processes such as Interactive Drawing Therapy (IDT) to help people process things personally. I love how doodling opens up different parts of our brains, and this skill we often use for work can be just as powerful for processing things in our personal lives. Each workshop is based around a theme and uses drawing with crayons and writing, following open and direct cues. It works a lot with metaphor, so rather than working on something literal like what's going on in your life, you'll draw a metaphor of how you are feeling, like something in nature. By working creatively in the metaphor space, we process things we're going through more easily. We break out of our norms of analysing, and let our unconscious do the work. I am passionate about sharing drawing for wellness with everyone, so that like yoga, journalling or meditation, this can become a self-care tool for all. We don't have to wait until things are really tough, to realise that we all have the resources within to help ourselves. ONE-ON-ONE SESSIONS
