At Float Well, our standard float has always been 60 minutes inside the tank, and that’s intentional.

Your nervous system doesn’t switch off the moment the door closes. The first 10–20 minutes are usually just your body arriving. Your mind is still processing the day. Your muscles are still holding subtle tension. Your breath is still adjusting.

Then something shifts.

For most people, the deepest part of their float happens from the 45-minute mark onward. That’s when the nervous system truly begins to down-regulate. When thinking softens. When the body passively lets go instead of trying to relax.

That depth is why we give you the time.

And if you’re a member? Every membership includes a complimentary 30-minute add-on to any float. So you can flow for up to 90 minutes at no extra cost.

Because sometimes 60 minutes feels good…
And sometimes you want to stay longer.

We’ve even had a handful of guests float for three hours. That’s we call a marathon float!

One of the most common questions we get:
“Is it safe to float while pregnant?”

Yes. Floating is very different from lying flat on a hard surface. The water is set to 35°C (skin temperature), so your body isn’t working to warm up or cool down. And because you’re completely buoyant, there’s no pressure on your spine, hips, or vena cava. You’re not compressed, you’re supported.

For many mums, it’s the first time in weeks their body feels weightless.

And then there’s the part that’s harder to explain.

Floating while pregnant can feel like a womb within a womb.
You, held by warm water.
Baby, held by you.

When your nervous system softens, theirs does too. When you slow your breathing, you can feel the subtle connection and the shared rhythm.

If you’re navigating pregnancy aches, poor sleep, or just craving an uninterrupted hour to tune in, this can be a beautiful addition to your care.

Always check with your lead maternity carer if you have specific medical considerations. But for most healthy pregnancies, floating is not only safe, it’s deeply restorative.

If you train, you’re an athlete.
And athletes need recovery.

Whether your week includes gym sessions, runs, team sport, martial arts, or just moving your body consistently, the stress adds up in the same places: muscles, joints, and the nervous system.

Float therapy supports recovery by removing gravity, allowing muscles to fully let go and decompress. The magnesium-rich water helps reduce muscle tension, support circulation, and downshift your nervous system, all key pieces of recovering well between sessions.

Recovery isn’t about doing less.
It’s about giving your body what it needs to keep showing up.

Every float ends differently. Some finish with stillness. Some with clarity. Some with half-dreams, wandering thoughts, or the quiet realisation that your body needed this more than you knew.

These are a few entries from our post-float reflection journal in January. Written moments after stepping out of the tank: unfiltered, unpolished, honest.

People often come in expecting silence or “nothingness.”
What they find instead is space.
Space to notice tension easing.
Space to let thoughts surface or drift away.
Space to simply be.

There’s no right way to float. There’s only how you arrive and what you leave with.

Thank you to everyone who shares a piece of their experience with us 🤍

Contrast therapy isn’t just about recovery.
It’s about longevity.

Repeated hot–cold exposure trains your blood vessels to expand and contract efficiently. This vascular adaptability is closely linked to cardiovascular health, metabolic function, and long-term resilience as we age.

Heat creates the challenge.
Cold drives the response.
Contrast is where the adaptation happens.

Done consistently, contrast therapy supports a body that recovers faster, regulates better, and stays more adaptable over time.

Longevity is built in the habits you repeat.

Wellness works best when it’s consistent.

Whether it’s floating to quiet your mind and support deeper sleep, or contrast therapy to improve recovery, circulation, and energy, the real benefits come from making it a regular part of your routine, not something you squeeze in occasionally.

That’s why our Monthly Memberships are designed around consistency, not intensity.

They’re for people who want to:
• prioritise their wellbeing without pressure
• support their body and nervous system regularly
• build sustainable self-care into real life

For a limited time, Monthly Memberships offer up to 40% off casual bookings, with flexibility built in:
• Single Float, Double Float, or Contrast Therapy options
• 3-month minimum, then month-to-month
• credits roll over if you miss a month
• discounted member rates on additional sessions

This limited release is available until 1 February (or until allocations fill).

If you’ve been meaning to make your wellbeing a priority, this is a simple way to commit to it, one month at a time.
