10 years in 🥳😮💨
I can still remember the day we opened. It was a Friday, we still didn’t have our final consents signed off, and we were fully booked that evening and the entire weekend ahead. Stress levels were through the roof. But we got there in the nick of time 😅
So much goes into building a brick-and-mortar business from scratch, and I can now admit how naive I was going into it. But if you know me, you know I’m willing to work hard, put in long hours, and get things done.
It’s been amazing to be one of the first float centres in New Zealand. We really did help pioneer this industry long before float tanks became trendy. I’ve always believed float therapy can change lives, as it has mine, and it’s been a privilege to facilitate that change for thousands of people over the years. I never take that for granted.
And business ownership is hard in ways most people never see. It’s 100-hour work weeks, sleepless nights, endless to-do lists, and a lifestyle where you never really switch off. But it’s also taught me so much, introduced me to incredible people, and inspired me to keep doing the mahi.
So thank you to all of my wonderful staff over the last decade, and to every single person who has walked through our doors and supported us. Small business is the backbone of New Zealand, and I’m really proud of what Float Well has grown into over these past 10 years.
Happy birthday to my first child, Float Well 🤍
Here’s to many more years of saltwater and good floaty vibes 🎈
