I am also a qualified and experienced teacher as well as a strong advocate for the neurodiverse. Over the past ten years, my passion to support those with different ways of learning has grown immensely. My role as an educator and leader in my field has enabled me to develop a strong understanding of individualized strategies that empower Neurodiverse individuals (children and adults) to be the best version of themselves. The challenges I have overcome throughout my own ADHD diagnosis journey, as well as the multiple roadblocks I have encountered when seeking support as a parent and educator, have taught me effective ways to navigate New Zealand's broken systems. My desire to make a difference and my commitment to helping others is what Body Double NZ is all about! As a mother of three children with ADHD, and being 110% ADHD myself, I UNDERSTAND how difficult it can be to keep up with life. Some days feel like they are a right-off before your feet have even touched the ground, right? With the daily pressure to keep on top of emails, appointments, cleaning, washing, shopping, study, work, exercise etc. we often find ourselves feeling paralyzed, not knowing where to begin. Even on the 'good days', we may wake up determined to tick all of those boxes, but more often than not we end the day feeling heavy, drained and defeated. Yes, there are LOADS of amazing strengths that come with having ADHD, but the reality is - it's often the boring (but very necessary) tasks that are the most difficult to keep up with. ADHD Advocate NZ offers a range of services for children and adults that are tailored to meet your individual needs.
