🔺🔻 ALIGN EXPLAINED 🔺🔻

This all-levels, non-heated class works towards a specific alignment point (eg, shoulder retraction; abduction), philosophical focus (eg, yamas/niyamas) or peak pose (eg, bird of paradise; wheel; crow). The vinyasa flow is intentionally sequenced to stretch and strengthen certain muscle groups in preparation for / in relation to the kaupapa of that day's class.

Sometimes Align can feel a bit more "workshoppy" that our Heated Flow, taking a slower, targeted approach to each pose in the sequence. Don't be surprised if you find yourself laughing a bit more in these classes as well, since learning new things can sometimes mean falling over, feeling a wee bit confused or getting outside your comfort zone!

Our Wednesday 5:30pm Align starts with a 15 min Guided Meditation. Wednesday's facilitator, , also takes a curriculum-based approach, scaffolding each class over a 4-week block to dive deeper into a particular asana (pose) or anatomical focus each week. You'll learn heaps, and might surprise yourself with what you've learned or can do by the end of the block!

Anatomy nerds, asana lovers or those looking to move the body in a more functional way, this class is definitely for you!

🔥 HOT POWER PILATES EXPLAINED 🔥

Well, this is a funny one to start our new 'Classes Explained' series because we're offering it for the first time *this* Sunday, 19th July, 2-3pm.

Hot Power Pilates is the same offering as our monthly Power Pilates (1st Sundays) with the heat turned on and WAY UP!

Expect a Mat Pilates class that levels-up with resistance bands and straps to challenge and enhance your strength, flexibility, and endurance. All done, of course, in a heated room to make it a little extra spicy 🌶!

Open to all levels of practice, but be prepared to sweat! Our room typically peaks around 32 degrees, which is a bit less hot (and more manageable, we think!) than the branded / trademarked Inferno Pilates you may have tried in other studios. This ain't a diss track but most students tells us they prefer our level of heat because it's hot but not faint-level hot...anyway, best to come see for yourself!

BYO mat, towel & water bottle or hire a mat ($2) or towel ($3) on arrival. We've got cups & filtered water in case you forget that, too! 💦

In yoga philosophy, the concept ‘vairāgya’ (translated as non-attachment) is the practice of letting go of our tendency to worry or to cling — to outcomes, fears, desires. This doesn’t mean we should be indifferent or withdrawal from everyday life. Rather, as defined by Patañjali, vairāgya is the state of being free from craving; it’s about cultivating inner stability so we’re not constantly pulled by pleasure, pain or some imagined future.

Worry is often a form of attachment: to control, to a need for certainty, to avoid discomfort. Vairāgya asks us to gently release that grip, to trust in the present moment, and to engage life with clarity rather than fear.

A consistent yoga and meditation practice can help us develop viveka (discernment) to recognise when our minds start spinning stories; cultivating vairāgya helps us let them go.

Reflect on a recent moment when worry took hold -- what would have changed if you'd met that moment with presence and trust instead?

Facilitated by Souvik Nandy, co-founder of the Asian School of Tea , this workshop blends the meditative practice of mindful tea preparation and drinking with gentle breathing and sensory awareness techniques. Learn to slow down and connect with the present moment — one mindful sip at a time. Perfect for tea lovers and non, wellness seekers and anyone looking to put a bit more balance into their busy world.

Both conventional tea and herbal tea will be available for those who are sensitive to caffeine!

New class! Power Pilates with a bit of heat to help increase blood circulation, loosen muscles and increase flexibility faster than you might in a non-heated class.
