✨ New Blog Drop ✨

Here’s a little highlight:
💬 “Our pelvic floor doesn’t exist in isolation. It’s part of a whole system: affected by how we move, how we breathe, how we feel, and how we live. That’s why a holistic approach matters. Looking at the whole person: body, breath, nervous system, and life experience, is what truly supports lasting change and healing.”

And for a bit of fun, I asked AI to create a podcast episode based on this blog 🙌 It did a brilliant job unpacking the connection between the nervous system and the pelvic floor.

✨ Joy in birth
Transform fear into confidence by understanding the science of birth, connecting deeply with your body, and embracing the journey ahead.

More than four years ago, I was so excited when opened — it was the perfect location for me with a baby and my mama community. I reached out to the studio owner .rozitis, we met up, and that’s how it all started — supporting mamas in Wellington together.

✨️We began with Prenatal Yoga in 2021, then added Postnatal (Mums & Bubs) Yoga not long after. That same year, when Covid hit, we created an online prenatal yoga course — Sam was my student model, beautifully pregnant at the time.

✨️Since then, I’ve had the joy of hosting many events at the studio — including the Mother’s Day Mums and Bubs Yoga in 2023 with Sam, not long after I became a lululemon ambassador in Wellington. In 2024, I ran a special event for teen parents at He Huarahi Tamariki School, made possible through lululemon’s Community Initiatives. That same year, I also launched the Breathe Move Birth Workshop at the studio — a dream come true, created to empower expectant parents for a confident, calm birth.

None of this would’ve been possible without Sam and Beyond Yoga. I’m so grateful for everything we’ve done together over the past 4.5 years — it’s been a huge part of my journey. 💛

With the studio closing in July 2025, it’s a big change. It’s sad — it’s been such a special home for this work. But I also feel ready (and a little nervous!) to step into what’s next — running my own classes and workshops as Breathe Move You. It’s not easy to say goodbye… but I’m walking forward with everything this space has given me, and I’m really thankful.

Thank you, Sam. Thank you, Beyond Yoga. I’ll carry this chapter with so much love.🙏

Jemma’s birth of Ilia 🤰✨️🤱

From Jemma:
💛💛💛💛
“My jaw was chattering. My body was trembling. I moved back and forth. Tried to do circular motions. Tried to breathe deep (umbrella breathing) and used low sounds on the out breath. It really helped when my partner also told me I was so strong and that I was doing great.

I got off the bed and tried standing with my arms around his neck. I felt that baby had dropped more so I knew that I needed to do asymmetrical movements/positions. I tried one knee up, then the other. But the pain was just so unbearable. I remember standing up and clenching my butt. Then, I told myself to get onto hands and knees. Then I felt my baby was near the back. I put my knees together and he fell out the back end.”
💛💛💛💛

After being the student model in my Breathe Move Birth Workshop on Saturday, Jemma’s water broke while she was cooking dinner the following Monday, labour didn’t begin right away. After a slow build-up with a gentle misoprostol induction, Jemma stayed connected, breathing, walking, practicing yoga & movements from my classes, she nourished herself with yummy food, seeing all the people she loves including me. 😊

On Thursday, during our usual prenatal yoga class, labour took off fast, Jemma met the intensity with strength and instinct. In just 21 minutes, Ilia was born into calm, loving arms.

💫No time for pain relief. No time to overthink. Just trust, movement, breath — and a deep inner knowing. A beautiful reminder of what’s possible when you feel safe, prepared, and truly connected to your body.

Why is Breathe Move Birth such an empowering experience for expectant parents? 🤰✨️🤱👨‍🍼

It’s not a lecture.
It’s not a checklist.
It’s a full-body, story-rich, embodied day to help you and your partner prepare for physiological birth — with calm and confidence.

We move. We laugh. We get hands-on.
You’ll hear real birth stories that bring the learning to life, and leave with tools that feel good now and make sense during birth.

It’s a powerful chance to tune into yourself, connect with your partner — and begin the journey into parenthood together.

💓Upcoming workshop: June 14, 11:15am–5pm
Spots are limited. Early bird from $140.

A few birth stories/reviews from parents who’ve attended Breathe Move Birth:

🌟 "I was able to have a VBAC, which I was really hoping for. Your classes and course helped me have such a positive birth experience." – Sally

🌟 "The first midwife arrived about 10 minutes after Sacha, but we had her on the phone during delivery. It was actually quite special, just being the two of us." – Kajal, who gave birth at home with her husband, Jason, before the midwife could arrive

🌟 "The love and care you’ve put into this workshop is so strong. Thank you for sharing your beautiful knowledge. As a birth partner, I feel so much more empowered to support Amy through this process." – Aaron

This unique workshop offers practical tools for each stage of labor—breathing, movement, myofascial release (self massage), and hands-on techniques—while also diving into the why behind and when to use them. Most importantly, it helps you tune into your intuition, so you can navigate birth with confidence.

Beginning the teaching in 2025 with My Why 💛

As I step into another year of supporting mamas, I continue to reflect on why I do this work. On the surface, it’s because of my own birth experiences—two empowering births that shaped how I see pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. But deep down, I know my journey started long before that.

It started with my mum. Her birth with me was far from gentle—it was traumatic. I grew up hearing her story, feeling the impact it had on her. If it's true that every one of us came to this world with a purpose, a calling, I believe that I'm here to nurture mamas from pregnancy and beyond. I'm here to support them feeling safe and confident in their journey. Birth should be an experience of transformation, not trauma. ✨️

I have a long-term vision of the value I can bring to people. It’s not always easy, but my why keeps me going—step by step.
