Our highly qualified specialist doctors are dedicated to helping you take control of your health. We are based in both Auckland (North Shore) and Wellington.

Our ambition is to provide advanced and minimally invasive techniques at affordable levels and empower people to take control of their health. In the past, varicose veins were stripped with a surgical procedure under a general anaesthetic, but today, we use the most advanced treatment which means; a day procedure, minimal time off work post procedure, significantly reduced cost to the patient, little or no scarring and minimal pain. Specialist Vein Health are a group of specialist doctors, who all work as specialist for public hospitals, based in both Wellington and Auckland. Some of our doctors are vascular surgeons, who specialise in vascular health, like arteries or
peripheral artery disease, or repair or Thoracic & Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) repair, Endovascular Radiofrequency Ablation (EVFA) and varicose eczema varicose ulcers, angiograms & stenting. All our doctors a proficient in consultations, varicose vein procedures and ultrasound. We do clinics & procedures in Nelson, Wellington & Auckland, plus clinics in Kapiti, Palmerston North & Lower Hutt.

Our Story

Dr Lupe Taumoepeau and Mr JK. Wicks are Australasian trained vascular and endovascular surgeons. We practice in central Wellington, Kapiti, Lower Hutt, Palmerston North and Nelson, are fulltime consultants for Wellington’s Capital Coast Health and work together in private practice in Wellington. Our ambition is to provide advanced and minimally invasive techniques at affordable levels and empower people to take control of their health. In the past, varicose veins were stripped with a surgical procedure under a general anaesthetic, but today, we use the most advanced treatment which means; a day procedure, minimal time off work post procedure, significantly reduced cost to the patient, little or no scarring and minimal pain. Specialist Vein Health specialises in carotid artery surgery, Thoracic & Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) repair and Varicose Veins, non invasive treatments, either EVFA (Endovascular Radiofrequency Ablation) or VenaSeal (medical adhesive) or sclerotherapy (injections of sclerosant). Plus we are specialists in treating varicose eczema and varicose ulcers.
