As part of Diabetes Action Month, we want to encourage everyone to take small, positive steps toward better health, starting at home 🏠
Our Healthy at Home Recipe Book is designed especially for our Pasifika communities and people living with Type 2 Diabetes. It’s filled with simple, affordable, and flavoursome recipes that make healthy eating easy for the whole family.
Every dish is quick to prepare, family friendly, and a great way to get the kids involved in the kitchen. Whether you’re managing diabetes or simply wanting to make healthier choices, this recipe book is a great place to start.
This week, we’re joined by Safekids Aotearoa, sharing practical tips to help keep our tamaiti safe from serious injuries - from falls and drowning to road safety. Their guidance supports families with children from birth to 14 years old.
Come along, learn, and empower your aiga with knowledge that keeps our kids safe and thriving.🌺

Pacific Health Service Hutt Valley is proud to continue our long-standing partnership with the Samoan Ministers Fellowship Wellington (Mafutaga Faifeau So'o Fa'atasi).
We were honoured to host their caucus meeting in our Tofa Mamao room, providing a space for meaningful dialogue and collaboration. 🙌
Our CEO shared key updates and stood alongside the Fellowship in support of issues that matter to our Pacific communities — including the Pacific Justice Petition (Visa-Free) championed by Arthur Anae, who joined the meeting online.
We remain committed to working alongside our key community leaders to ensure that issues relevant to our people — and the overall wellbeing of our communities — are at the forefront of every conversation. We are also committed to ensuring our leaders are up to date with their health checks — because healthy leaders build strong communities. 🙏

It's Game Day Brothaz! 🏉🔥
Our Brothaz Derek, Tonu'u, and Antonio came together for a talanoa on what wellbeing means during the Pacific Rugby League Championships, reminding us that through sport, we can learn from each other, celebrate our different cultures, and stand united as one people of the Moana." 🌊
Brothaz Hutt Valley is a brotherhood built on honesty, connection, and cultural strength. Together, we’re breaking cycles, creating safe spaces to talanoa, reflect, and grow stronger. 💪
Remember, strength is not measured by silence, but by the courage to speak up and seek help. True leadership begins with looking after yourself, your aiga, and your community. 🙌
We invite you to support this movement by sharing, watching and liking these Pages linked below. Together, we can help change lives, break down stigma, and uplift our Pasifika communities one brother at a time.

We’re thrilled to announce our first-ever international and national webinar - and what a way to begin! 🙌
In partnership with Collaborative Aotearoa, PHSHV are bringing together a powerhouse panel of Nurse Practitioner leaders and experts from Canada and New Zealand.
Last year, our General Manager and Nurse Practitioner travelled to Ontario, Canada, where they were hosted by the inspiring CEO and President of the Ontario Nurse Practitioner Association and connected with incredible NP leaders. Now, we’re excited to bring that global expertise home.
This event will be facilitated by our very own - and Wellington’s only - Pacific Nurse Practitioner, alongside Te Whatu Ora’s National Chief Nursing Officer and Chair of Nurse Practitioner NZ.

🚨Measles is spreading here in New Zealand, and we need to do our part to protect our families🛡️
Measles isn’t just a rash - it’s serious. But the good news is it’s preventable! This highly contagious virus spreads easily through coughing, sneezing, or even being in the same room as someone infected.
Early symptoms feel like a cold, fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes followed by a spreading rash. This can lead to serious complications like pneumonia, ear infections, or brain swelling, and can be life-threatening. ☹️
💡The MMR vaccine protects against measles, mumps, and rubella - it’s safe, free, and proven to work. Protect your fanau, and your community. Get your two doses today at your GP, local pharmacy or right here at Pacific Health Service Hutt Valley.

Measles is spreading here in New Zealand, and we need to do our part to protect our families, especially our pēpē and our kaumātua.
Measles isn’t just a rash, it’s serious, but the good news is it’s preventable! 🙌🏽
This highly contagious virus spreads easily through coughing, sneezing, or even just being in the same room as someone who has it. Early symptoms can seem like a common cold, fever, runny nose, red eyes, and a cough - but within a few days, a rash appears, starting on the face and spreading across the body. You may also feel tired, achy, or sensitive to light.
Measles can cause serious complications such as pneumonia, ear infections, or swelling of the brain (encephalitis), and in some cases, it can be life-threatening.
The MMR vaccine protects against measles, mumps, and rubella - it’s safe, free, and proven to work. Protect your fanau, and your community. Get your two doses today at your GP, or right here at Pacific Health Service Hutt Valley.

We provide community engagement, development, support, health services and social services. Our focus is A Vibrant Healthy Pasefika community in the Hutt Valley. We have delivered value to Pasefika people since 1999.
Our Pasefika family-centred approach reinforces family strengths, provides appropriate support and empowers families to live well with greater control over their lives. We are very well connected as a core part of our community and our approach is based on socio-cultural evidence about what works. This includes working through established community networks and a focus on faith-led approaches to service delivery. The nine explicit premises from the Family Centre Report offer a good description of our Pasefika family-centred approach.

Our Board is made up of representatives from the main Pasefika groups in the Hutt Valley, co-opted representatives (e.g. representing Youth) plus independent directors as required to provide the skills and experience the Board requires.
