SUMMARY OF REGIONAL HUI 2025 WORKSHOPS: WHAT WE HEARD

In October 2025, we hosted a series of Regional Hui in Christchurch, Auckland, and Wellington.

To inform our upcoming project to refresh the Scope of Practice and Competencies for Registration and Continuing Practice (the project), and explore advanced practice, each hui included an afternoon workshop. We recorded feedback at the sessions from over 230 attendees, and we also received online contributions.

We have collated a summary of what we heard at the hui and via online contributions. This will be considered as part of the project.

Click here to read the collated feedback:

If you have any comments or additional points you would like to make about the questions raised at the hui, please get in touch by emailing Nicky Willis at consultation@otboard.org.nz.

The refreshed Code of Conduct and Ethics 2025 (CoCE) was launched at the 2025 Regional Hui across the motu.

The code establishes moral standards, guides ethical decision-making, and embeds tikanga in a framework promoting integrity, fairness and respect. The full version and the shorter Practitioner Tool version can be found on the OTBNZ website. Included at the end of both versions is a Guide to Ethical Decision Making Process.

We recognise that after implementation a review of the Code over time is good practice. The review starts this month, beginning with a short survey. We'd love to hear your thoughts so far.

Complete the Code of Conduct and Ethics practitioner survey:
