Jolie Davis; of Te Rarawa and Ngati Kuri descent, is a traditional practitioner (Kaimirimiri) and educator based in Wellington, New Zealand. She practices Mirimiri and Romiromi; - powerful Maori healing modality - which realigns, corrects dysfunction, clears the body and spirit and restores wellness and energetic flow to the Whai-Ora (person seeking wellness). Mirimiri and Romiromi is a traditional practice included in the body of knowledge known as Rongoa Maori.
Jolie is passionate about empowering people by reconnecting back to traditional knowledge and practice, teachings and cultural concepts of health and wellbeing. With a background in nursing, she believes that our first responsibility is to ourselves to maintain health and wellness; rather than continuing dependancy on healthcare, medication and ‘the ambulance at the bottom of the cliff’ mentality.
Jolie teaches from her own personal experience and journey in Mirimiri. She designed the Manawa Ora foundational workshop to give people the foundational tools, techniques and concepts that provide the basis for traditional healing and bodywork. She was taught that MAURI is the life force that connects everyone, therefore knowledge (and healing) is for everyone. Mirimiri is not just massage or a bunch of techniques; it is a philosophy and a way of life. Mauri ora!
As well as maintaining her clinic in Mana, Porirua; Jolie facilitates regular workshops - teaching the Foundations of Maori bodywork and healing - in Wellington, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne and Brisbane.
