With the current weather across Wellington and the State of Emergency in place, I made the call to close the clinic tomorrow.

Your safety is the most important thing, and with advice to limit non-essential travel, it feels right to give everyone space to stay home, warm, and out of harm’s way.

If you’re a Wellingtonian, you probably felt the chill last night! Many people notice that their joint pain worsens in colder weather.

In TCM, this is called Cold Bi (pronounced “bee”). Cold can settle in the joints, slow the flow of qi and blood, tighten muscles, increase stiffness, heaviness, and discomfort.

If you have a cold condition, you must balance it with heat. Here’s a pic of stick on moxa with acupuncture on the "Knee eyes". Moxa is used in conjunction with acupuncture to warm the joint, dispel cold, and move qi and blood, to help ease joint pain and discomfort.

My right forearm and grip strength have been a bit grumpy lately, thanks to the repetitive nature of the job! Believe it or not, but we actually do a lot of this🤌 all day!

My ECRB needs some love, so to get me through this week, I used an Ashi point on the Large Intestine Channel between LI 11 and LI 10.

Wanna check your forearm/lateral elbow? Place your forearm on a table, palm down, lift your middle finger against resistance. If your outer elbow hurts, maybe you also need a bit of acupuncture goodness.

Merry Christmas whānau!

Today was my last clinic day for the year, and I’m ending it feeling deeply grateful.

“Thank you” doesn’t quite capture how much I value and appreciate every one of you, for your personality, humour, exciting life updates, baby milestones, and your client referrals. It means a great deal to be trusted as part of your care.

Quick Holiday update!
