I’ve realised if you’ve landed here and don’t know me, this page might feel a little… confusing.

That’s because my world isn’t just one thing - neither am I.

I’m a coach, a competitor, and a clinician.
I’m also a mum, and I work in spaces that influence health at a systems level.

So my posts? They’re a reflection of that mix.

You’ll see training, because I love pushing my body and helping others do the same.
You’ll see care, because supporting mental health and wellbeing is at the heart of what I do.
You’ll see real life, because balance isn’t something I just talk about - it’s something I’m constantly navigating too.

My kaupapa is simple:
To help people live the happiest, healthiest lives they can - using every tool I have.

That might look like movement.
It might look like rest.
It might look like support, connection, or small, practical shifts that make a big difference over time.

If you’re here for all of that - hi 👋

Free NADA Ear Seed Sessions – Flood Support 💙

My clinic is based in Island Bay, and I’m offering free 20‑minute NADA ear seed sessions for anyone affected by the recent flooding.

NADA is a form of auricular (ear) therapy, used worldwide in emergency and disaster relief settings - including after the Christchurch earthquakes and mosque attacks.

• No needles
• Quiet space to rest
• Small ear seeds applied to specific points on both ears
• Not a medical assessment or treatment

Research suggests this approach can help support nervous system settling during stressful times.

👉 Bookings are essential (20‑minute sessions):
Use the qrs code to book.
Please feel free to share, and if you have questions, you’re welcome to DM me.

Physical activity is one of the most powerful ways to protect your health - at any age.
What many people don’t realise is that countries publish official Physical Activity Guidelines, based on large bodies of health evidence.
This graphic is drawn from the UK Chief Medical Officers’ Physical Activity Guidelines for adults and older adults.
Regular physical activity:
• Improves sleep, mood, and quality of life
• Helps manage stress and maintain a healthy weight
• Reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, some cancers, falls, and joint or back pain
• Keeps muscles, bones, and joints strong as we age
The guideline is simple:
✔️ At least 150 minutes of moderate activity per week, or
✔️ 75 minutes of vigorous activity, or a combination
➕ Strength‑building activities on at least 2 days each week
➕ Reduce sedentary time and break up long periods of sitting
Some activity is good.
More is better.
And it’s never too late to start.

🌾 EARTH - stability, nourishment & worry

Are you always holding things together - and quietly exhausted? 🌾

The Earth element is about nourishment, stability, and care - both giving and receiving.

When Earth is strained, you might notice:
• constant worry/rumination
• fatigue or heaviness
• digestive discomfort
• over‑responsibility for others, difficulty asking for help

What helps when Earth is strained:
• regular meals (many people find warm foods supportive)
• reduce multitasking
• create predictable routines
• let yourself receive support

Earth reminds us that care is meant to flow both ways.

🔥 FIRE - joy, connection & the heart

Do you feel emotionally “on”, but never really settled? 🔥

The Fire element relates to connection, joy, and emotional warmth. In modern life, Fire is often overstimulated rather than nourished.

When Fire is strained, it can look like:
• anxiety/restlessness
• overthinking (especially at night)
• emotional overwhelm, feeling scattered or unsettled
• burnout from over‑connecting

Supporting Fire gently:
• prioritise meaningful (not constant) connection
• create evening wind‑down rituals
• laugh on purpose
• limit emotional overexertion

Fire thrives on rhythm, not intensity.

🌿 WOOD - movement, direction & emotional flow

Feeling stuck, frustrated, or tightly wound? 🌱

In Chinese Medicine, Wood is about movement, growth, and direction - the part of us that adapts, plans, and moves forward without force.

When Wood is under strain, it can look like:
• frustration/irritability, feeling “stuck”
• a busy, looping mind
• tension in the neck, shoulders, jaw, hips, or lower back

Gentle ways to support Wood:
• gentle stretching or walking (especially outdoors)
• create one clear, achievable goal
• write out frustrations rather than holding them in
• reduce overstimulation when stressed
• let yourself pause instead of pushing harder (Like Bear in the photo - he is really good at this!)

Wood doesn’t need force - it needs space.

A different way to understand health 🌿
In Chinese Medicine, the Five Elements, Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water, help us understand how the body, emotions, and nervous system work together.
Each element carries physical, emotional, and mental themes.
When things feel “off”, it’s often not about something being wrong -it’s about something asking for support.
Over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing a gentle introduction to each element, how imbalance can show up, and simple ways to support yourself.
This isn’t about labels.
It’s about awareness, patterns, and listening more closely.

So some of you have asked about the meaning behind my tattoo. And while this can be a kind of personal question and sometimes a tattoo can be a beautiful piece of art mine does have a bit of a story.

The tūī and crimson rosella are my favourite birds- one from New Zealand, one from Australia. They represent where I started and where I’ve landed,

It honours an old tattoo which was done when I first landed in nz and talks about strength in new beginnings. And it also covers the scars from a broken back at 18, and transforms a part of me that I was super ashamed of into something I can finally see as beautiful.

Identity. Healing. Belonging. Growth.
All in one place , my story in ink 😊
This was drawn and tattooed by an amazing artist . I am so grateful for his talent and the time and care he took to do this for me.

Some days I feel strong.
Some days I feel old, sore, and like I’m pretending I belong here.

HYROX isn’t just a physical race for me, it’s a mental one.
Imposter syndrome. Self-doubt. The quiet voice that asks “who do you think you are?”

This race was actually fun.
Racing with felt awesome.
The podium? A genuine surprise 😳 and yes, I’m proud of us.

But I want to say this out loud:
Doing well doesn’t magically silence the inner battle.
Outside results don’t always match the internal dialogue.

If you’re showing up while doubting yourself…
If you’re aging, aching, questioning….and still trying…
you’re not behind. You’re human.

This is what it really looks like for me.

Just dropped into The Yard Gym in Newtown and trained with coach/owner Igor- absolute legend. 🔥
He welcomed the travelling Kiwis in with open arms… and then promptly put us to the test! 😅💪
Such an epic vibe. Will definitely be back! 🇳🇿✨

A little moment of pride 🤗

Last week I had the privilege of co-presenting with Lindsey Pine, on behalf of the Chinese Medicine Council of NZ, at the Oceania TCM Forum. We spoke about how normalising complaints strengthens our profession and safeguards the people we care for.

It’s one of the hats I wear - alongside mental health work and Hyrox coaching-that reminds me why I do what I do: helping people feel stronger, safer, and supported in every part of their health journey.
