I’ve been pretty slack at posting and using this page to share what’s happening in the GP college

We just had our GP college conference and welcomed even more Māori fellows! But even more amazing was the energy amongst all delegates - with regards to rethinking how they approach equity - this was driven by a roof raising key note to open the conferences friday by Dr Camara Jones - telling her stories that she is famous and really inspiring everyone there!
A Panel with Camara and Dr Matire Harwood and head of Auckland city mission to really emphasis those system changes needed but how we can still advocate for change!
Then to close out the conference on Sunday with Dr David Tipene-Leach and his mahi on Wahakura and importance of cultural safety>cultural competence >cultural awareness

The college is not perfect when it comes to equity and there’s a way still to go in really changing the system (of health and overall) but I think now more GPs than ever can start to see how they can have a role and were inspired to not just consider equity but to consider how they act on it!
