We are excited to announce that Healthcare New Zealand has been voted New Zealand's most trusted homecare brand in the Trusted Brand 2025 awards. This recognition has been achieved in the highly competitive category of “Home Health Care”. This is the first year this category has been included in the awards.

As part of the Trusted Brands annual awards, Reader's Digest New Zealand surveys New Zealanders to gauge their experiences with brands and services. As Reader’s Digest notes:

"Trust is that intangible quality that signals reliability and integrity. Whether it is a product or service, trust is what reassures us that we are making the right choice".

This recognition highlights Healthcare New Zealand’s commitment to high-quality care that supports New Zealanders to live their best lives.

These achievements would never have been possible without the support workers, nurses, allied health professionals, and office-based staff who work tirelessly each day to care for the people we support. We are incredibly grateful for the dedication and compassion displayed daily by our people.

Penelope (Penny), one of our incredible Community Support Workers, recently found herself in a situation that truly shows the heart of this work.

"I was on a regular shift when suddenly things changed. My client became unresponsive and fainted. I made sure she was safe, pressed the medical alarm and started CPR. Thankfully, the ambulance arrived just as she was coming back around. I stayed with her, called her son, and made sure the paramedics had everything they needed."

Moments like these remind Penny why she gets up every day.

"I love looking after people. It gives me a boost, makes me smile knowing I can make someone else feel safe and supported. Sometimes, we're the only person they see in their day, so it's important we make them feel good about themselves."

Penny has been part of our HealthCare NZ whānau for 6 years, working in Nelson before recently moving to Oamaru.

"I've met so many amazing people through this job - people with disabilities, people who just need someone in their corner. I’m just glad I can be there for them”

Thank you, Penny, for all that you do. You truly embody what it means to care.
