Rotary Club of Karori – How Can We Help?

We’re reaching out to our wider community across Karori, Makara, Northland, and Kelburn to ask:

πŸ‘‰ Do you know of any local projects or needs we could support?

For over 40 years, Karori Rotary has proudly backed initiatives that uplift our community - from building the Karori Park playground, helping establish Zealandia Te Māra a Tāne Ecosanctuary, and purchasing the Marsden Club Karori building for Dementia Day Care, to supporting vital causes like the new Te Wao Nui Child Health Service (Wellington Hospitals Foundation), the Life Flight Trust, and mental health support in schools through our own β€˜Lifting the Lid’ programme.

In recent years, we’ve distributed nearly $30,000 to local clubs and organisations – but we want to do more, and do it better. That’s where you come in!

πŸ‘‰ Got a great community idea? Need a helping hand or funding boost?

Let us know, or point us toward the right people to chat with.

πŸ‘‰ We also have a few upcoming events where we’d love your help or participation:

πŸ“š Karori Community Book Fair 3–4 October (with Karori Lions).
🌱 Working Bee at the Marsden Club Dementia Day Care House this Spring.
β˜•οΈ Our next Business Breakfast – 30 July with guest speaker John Allen, Chief Ombudsman - do come along!

πŸ‘‰ We’re always on the lookout for:
βœ… New fundraising ideas
βœ… Project partners
βœ… Great guest speakers
βœ… New members to join us on our mission

If you’d like to get involved, share a suggestion, or learn more about what we do – we’d love to hear from you!

Together, we can make a real difference in our community.

β€˜What I love about the Marsden Club is that the team are really tuned into individual needs.

The first time we went to visit it really felt like walking into someone's home, rather than a care centre. The baking was going on in the kitchen and everything was very calm.

It feels like a very lovely retirement home.’ - Suz

Since 1984 we’ve provided a warm, friendly space for people living with dementia and neurological disorders. Our day programmes offer gentle exercise, cognitive stimulation, and a home-cooked lunch, giving both members and carers a well-deserved break.

We currently have vacancies!

Funding is available for eligible individuals.

Hi Karori πŸ‘‹πŸΌ

First time caller, long time listener πŸ“»

We’ve been here since 1984 thanks to the Rotary Club of Karori but are newbies to social media (so please be gentle).

We’d love to be able to welcome some new Club Members to Newcombe Cres, so if you know of anyone who might benefit from our services, please get in touch at the email address below.

And despite it being a very 2012 thing to say, please like our page and follow us for more updates βœ…

We love providing services in Karori and hope to continue to into the future and would love your support πŸ’™
