Tākaro - he tino hononga ki te Taiao

whanui along with Whareama School based in Whakaoriori (Te Wairarapa) has been facilitating a yearly Ki o Rahi event on the beach every yr for the past 10yrs.

The start & the finish of the day is dictated by the rise and fall of the tides. Encouraging everyone to work with nature not against it.

The NZ Secondary School Senior Kī o Rahi Tournament known as Manarahi was held on the 30th March - 1st April 2026. The competition was held in Lower Hutt and featured 32 teams from across Aotearoa. The level of play was probably at the highest it has ever been with any one of the Top 8 teams t
