Home after a few days away at a Horse Mindfulness & Medicine course with 💫

I spend a lot of time observing, analysing and making sense of things whether that’s in my job, my academic study or even in my day to day life. Here we went back to the basics of mindfulness and connection, being able to be, witness and feel without needing to make sense of things (a much needed break for my busy brain!).

There’s so many things we can learn from being in nature and being with animals. They teach us it doesn’t always have to be complex or hard, we can just be and that’s enough 🤍

Also can’t forget about the awesome people who made it extra special and offered lots of laughs, shared experiences and love (see ya around beautiful people 🫶🏽).

Summer project over the Christmas break 🙌🏽 Learning to paint my friend’s horse 💫

Really have to stick with the process and get through the ugly parts before it’s starts looking somewhat decent.

Since we are about to enter the year of the horse I might have to try do more 👀🐴

We’ve made it to 2026! Happy new year! ✨🙌🏽

There is often a lot of pressure and hype around hitting the ground running at the start of a new year. But all good things take time to build momentum, so be patient and move steadily 🐴

This year is going to be a big one for me, the next 6 months I will be working steadily on my thesis for my June submission. I’m both excited and at times overwhelmed so I am focusing on one day at a time.

I am also very excited to continue to develop my art practice and share this with you all 💭

But for now I will continue to slowly land as I prepare for the year ahead.

Wishing you lots of love, joy and adventures for 2026! 💫

Art as protest. Art as truth-telling. Art as healing ❤️‍🩹

Each piece in my art as activism series was created to hold the stories we’re often taught to keep quiet - stories of harm, survival and the fierce strength it takes to rise.

Now available as A4 signed prints, these works are more than art for your walls - they are conversation starters, reminders and acts of resistance ✨

Happy international women’s day to all the beautiful people in my life who have stood by my side, nurtured and supported me and challenged me to grow. And to all the wonderful clients I work with who I have the privilege of supporting on their journeys of healing, you inspire me everyday 🫶🏼

When we advocate for equality and access to equal opportunities for women, we must be focus on the intersectional oppression many women on the margins experience. We are not free until we are all free from harm 🤍

Trauma isn’t just personal it’s shaped by the systems we live in.

From intergenerational trauma rooted in systemic oppression to unequal access to resources, recovery is influenced by the world around us.

Healing becomes a radical act when we acknowledge these factors and advocate for change. It’s not just about individual transformation, it’s about creating equitable systems that support collective recovery.

When trauma occurs, the nervous system may respond with a fight, flight, freeze or fawn response. If the event isn’t able to be fully processed or resolved, this response can become ‘stuck.’

Instead of just storing the factual memory, the body and brain retain the sensory, emotional and physiological aspects of the trauma - making it feel like it’s being relived rather than just remembered.

This is why effective healing approaches address both the mind and body which focus on re-establishing safety, regulating the nervous system so it can move fluidly and also processing or integrating the trauma narrative 🌱

Bilateral drawing is a technique that engages both hemispheres of the brain by using both hands simultaneously, promoting balance between thinking and feeling. 🎨💭 Research shows that bilateral movements can help regulate emotions, reduce anxiety and improve focus by calming the nervous system and enhancing neural communication.
