The DANCE of VINYASA

Establishing continued Awareness - Ashtanga Yoga as a moving meditation.

With Stewart Cameron Harris

We will start with a talk and exercises to cultivate awareness, then we will apply what we have learned through the standing asana and move into a Mysore style session.

This will be followed by Pranayama with the focus on the foundations of Kumbhaka ( breath hold). From this workshop you will be able to safely and confidently continue with your own powerful pranayama practice. Handouts will be given.

Hot tea & snacks will be provided post practice prior to discussion.

About Stewart:

“Stewart warmly offers an authentic experience of yoga, creating calm & supportive space for you to gently but firmly, embody your true intuitive self”.

Stewart began practicing Ashtanga yoga in Wellington in 1999 with Gwendoline Hunt, and then Vipassana meditation in 2000.

Stewart is ‘authorised Level 2’, by Sharath Jois and has completed the ‘advanced A series’.

He continues to meditate daily and attend meditation retreats.

TUSK Yoga Studio is once again honoured to present our upcoming workshop over 3 days with Stephanie Nelson (Waiheke Island Ashtanga Yoga) Steph Waiheke

A 3 day workshop offering 3 sessions which can be attended individually and a superb opportunity to delve in and deepen your practice no matter what level.

Friday 21 July: Yin (5:30-7pm) $30
Saturday 22 July: Ashtanga Masterclass (9:30am-12:30pm) $60
Sunday 23 July: Ashtanga LED class (10am -12pm) $35

($120 for all 3 days)

Stephanie has been practicing Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga for over 20 years and teaching for over 15 years.

She added Yin yoga as complement to her daily practice over 10 years ago, and has found this combination to be highly transformative and beneficial for both body and mind.

Stephanie has taught workshops and teacher trainings integrating both yoga styles in NZ and internationally. During the last two and 1/2 years, she has expanded her reach via daily live zoom sessions to help keep people on the mat and connected to the yoga community during these uncertain times.

In addition, Stephanie initiated her PhD in Psychology in June 2020 at the University of Auckland researching the effects of regular yoga on cognition and was awarded the Kate Edger First Year Doctoral Award in 2021.

Stephanie wishes to share yoga with all who are willing, inspire daily practice, and have a bit of fun along the way.
