Falling in love with possibility.

Have you ever fallen in love with possibility? That foresight of not where you are but what could be?

It unravels like the night. Stealth like. You almost don’t see it coming. A glimmer, a spark, laughter, hope even. A feeling of home.

A step on the yellow brick road. A leap of faith that you didn’t even know you were taking until the light changed, the sands shifted, the mirage faded and you were left. Just left, realising that once again you had fallen in love with possibility.

And then something else. A glimmer once again. Only this time it’s understanding. An unveiling if you like. Of a wound so,so deep that you never knew it was there.

It’s breathtaking in its rawness. In the visceral way that understanding feels in my body. Now raw and open to be felt and seen.

I don’t stop it. I don’t cover it. I don’t hide. Understanding wraps itself around me like layer after layer of blankets. What was once thought of as disappointment reveals itself in its true form and as it does sorrow rears its head.

And I finally breathe out.

Never apologise for who you are flower, claw hammer or something else 😘

So often we get labeled based on others people’s perceptions of who we are, how we act, especially how we look. Arguably we experience the worst hurt when we label ourselves based on societies “ norms”.

Here’s a thought. Why don’t we stop?

Next time someone asks you or makes a statement about you involving a label why don’t you try the response “I’m me and I’m proud of that” and if you don’t quite believe that yet, figure out what you need to change to make it true.
