🌿Immunisations act like a protective shield for tamariki. When vaccines are given on time, they strengthen your child’s natural defences and help prevent complications.

Have a kōrero with your doctor, nurse or healthcare provider about what's right for you and your pēpi!

Flu vaccines

Flu vaccines are available from Wednesday 1st April 2026. For the best protection get a flu vaccine before winter.

Yearly flu vaccines are FREE for all people aged 65 years and over, pregnant people, or people who have a long-term medical condition like diabetes, asthma, heart condition, or auto immune disease. For all other people the cost is $35.00 or $50.00 depending upon the vaccine that you choose.

We can see you on any day during the week, and we have appointments available on Tuesday after 5pm and on Saturday 18th April and Saturday 2nd May.

If you are over 65 years you can choose to pay for a flu vaccine called Fluad. This costs $50.00. It can provide improved and longer immunity to flu. See www.fluvaccine.co.nz/fluad-full for more information. Please advise us at time of booking if you want this vaccine.

To book an appointment with the nurse please call 04 478 9858 or book into a Flu Clinic using the patient portal.

📦 Know someone moving into uni halls or a boarding school this year?

Living close to lots of new people can help illness spread - including meningococcal disease, which can become serious very quickly.

Young people aged 13-25 in their first year living in halls, boarding schools, military barracks, youth justice facilities or other close‑living settings are at higher risk.

The good news: MenB and ACWY immunisations are free for those in their first year of these living situations.
➡️ Two doses for MenB, one for ACWY.

You can book with your GP, Hauora Māori or Pacific provider, some pharmacies, or university health centres. It's ideal to get immunised before moving in, but if already moved in, that's okay! Young people can catch up.

Book at info.health.nz/bookavaccine or call 0800 28 29 26.
