Get to know our fabulous new physio!

Nicole is one of our highly skilled physiotherapists, bringing strong experience in the management of acute and sports injuries, alongside a particular passion for exercise-based rehabilitation.
She combines hands-on treatment with thoughtful, evidence-based rehab planning to help people recover well, move confidently, and get back to doing what they love.

Known for her calm, supportive approach and clinical expertise, Nicole is skilled in manual therapy, dry needling, and tailored rehabilitation programs that are designed to not only treat injuries, but improve long-term strength, function, and confidence. Whether someone is recovering from a recent injury or working towards bigger movement goals, Nicole is dedicated to helping them feel supported every step of the way.

Outside of work, Nicole loves baking, horse riding, and watching rugby league (up the Wahs!). She’s very much looking forward to getting to know everyone and becoming part of the wonderful local community here at Epic Physio.

We asked her our standard hard-hitting questions and here's what Nicole had to say-

🟩What’s your very specific coffee order?
- Short and sweet: a small mocha

🟩Favorite local spot?
- Omeru Reserve

🟩What music should play when you walk into a room?
- “Dartmoor, 1912” by John Williams

🟩Favorite way to move your body?
- Going for a walk or horse riding

🟩Cats or dogs?
- Love both but dogs take the win!

🟩Sweet or savory?
- Sweet! Chocolate is the c***k in my armour

🟩Favorite inspirational quote?
- “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”

Week 6 of our 11-week challenge
This week we’re getting the heart rate up a little more
Cardio fitness isn’t just about pushing hard- it’s about supporting your heart health, energy levels, and overall capacity to move through life with ease.
So this week is about flowing movement that gently challenges your system.
We’ll be keeping things continuous and steady, rather than stop-start.
Think:
– keep moving, even if it’s gentle
– stay in control of your breathing
– find your own pace
It’s about building fitness in a way that feels achievable and sustainable.
Video to follow in an hour team!

We’re excited to introduce Nicole who is joining the team to look after the Epic people in our community. Nicole loves fresh injuries, she’s an expert in keeping people moving the way they like to be moving. She works with you to understand what you want, and provide what you need to keep doing what you’re doing. Nicole is currently studying her PGDip in physiotherapy and moving onto her masters next year. Her longer appointment times allow her to get to the root of the issue and let your body respond to the treatments in its own time.

You can book in today, online (www.epicphysio.co.nz) or give us a call 09 281 3028.

Week 5 of our 11-week challenge
This week is all about balance and coordination

These are the things we don’t always think about… until we notice they’re not quite there. But they play a huge role in how steady, confident, and supported we feel in our bodies.
They’re also really important for injury prevention and long-term strength.
We’ll be working through single-leg exercises and controlled movement patterns to help your body stay steady in different positions.

Think:
– slow, intentional movement
– staying grounded through your base
– using your breath to stay steady

It doesn’t need to be perfect- just present.
We’ll show you more tomorrow.

Tegan came to the Riders Strength Lab matching the furniture, so of course we had to get a cheeky video. It is so wonderful to see these ladies grow in their strength and connection with their bodies!

Thanks to .culture.nz and .muzzle.movement our dogs can safely interact with their world again.

I’m excited to be rocking these colours in public 🥰

Our two aren’t ‘dangerous’ but now they’re safe with the vet, safe with their mates, safe around poisons on our walks.

Every dog should be muzzle trained. Just in case.

Week 4 of our 11-week challenge

This week we’re leveling things up a little… building deeper core strength.
Your core is doing a lot more work than most people realise- it supports your spine, helps with control through movement, and plays a big role in preventing injury.
So this week is about asking it to work a little harder, but still with control and care.
We’ll be adding in more challenging abdominal work, always focusing on quality rather than speed or repetition.

Think:
– slow, controlled movement
– steady breathing throughout
– no rushing, no forcing
This is where strength really starts to build- not by doing more, but by doing it well.
We’ll show you a bit more of this in action tomorrow.
