🌀 Lumbar Roll Stretch 🌀

This is a great gentle mobility stretch for your lower back. It helps improve movement through the spine, reduce stiffness, and can ease that “tight” or locked-up feeling—especially if you’ve been sitting a lot or feeling a bit restricted through your back.

As your knees roll to the side, you’ll also feel a stretch through the gluts and outer hip, making it a nice one for relieving tension in that whole lower back–hip region.

💡 Top tip: Keep it slow and controlled—this isn’t about forcing the movement, just allowing your body to relax into it.

⚠️ Important: This stretch should feel comfortable. If it causes pain, sharp discomfort, or doesn’t feel right for your body—stop and don’t push through it.

If you’re unsure whether this is right for you, chat to one of our physios ☺️

Injury of the Month: Calf & Achilles Strains 🏆🦵

Calf and Achilles injuries are one of the most common injuries we have seen over the past month, especially in runners and people getting back into sport.

A great exercise for building strength and helping prevent injury is a calf raise hold.

Try this:
✔️ Rise up onto your toes
✔️ Hold for 20–30 seconds
✔️ Slowly lower back down
✔️ Repeat 3–4 times

Once this becomes easy, progress to single-leg holds.

Strong calves help take the load off the achilles and improve your ability to run, jump and change direction safely.

If you’ve been feeling calf tightness or achilles pain, it’s best to get onto it early before it turns into a bigger problem.

✨ Exciting news – Sam is back, and this time as the new owner of Physio4u! ✨

I’m pleased to announce that I’ll be taking over Physio4u next week.

Over the past two years, I’ve been working full-time as a physiotherapist in Australia, gaining experience across inpatient and outpatient care, rehabilitation wards, and within an Aboriginal Medical Service. I’m incredibly grateful for that experience and to bring these skills back home.

I’m really excited to be back in West Melton. My fiancé and I have recently bought property here, and I’m looking forward to being involved in the community again, both personally and through Physio4u.

I’ll be working full-time at Physio4u, Monday to Friday, with two late nights available.

I can’t wait to reconnect with familiar faces, meet new clients, and continue providing high-quality, personalised physiotherapy care to the community, alongside Kayla who is continuing to work part time. Thank you so much for the support – I’m really looking forward to this next chapter 💙

Hey everyone!
Just a small note from me with a bit of a large update 😲

I have made the incredibly difficult decision to sell Physio4u and focus on my family and our two wee boys.
As of Monday 26th January, the clinic will be under new, (fantastic) ownership. I am truly excited for the clinic and know that it is in brilliant hands.

I also wanted to take the opportunity to thank you all for your support over the last 9 years. I have absolutely loved working in this community and getting to know you all. I will still be here part time and look forward to seeing you all in the clinic.

Keep an eye out for a post from the new owner introducing themselves over the next week!

Until then, many thanks and see you round!💙
Kayla
