This is something I am super excited and proud about!
And also something I'm proud that I did while pacing myself which if you know me and my hyperfixations, is very difficult!

I have been incorporating education about matrescence in antenatal classes since the start of the year when I started this incredible course with Matrescence NZ. And now very excited to start incorporating more and bringing in person matrescence support. Watch this space Whakatāne, I've got a cool wee drop in group going throughout September and will be posting details later during the week :)

I do now realize the first weekend is Matariki so if you are unable to join in person for one weekend, you are still welcome for the second and I can share resources to keep you up to speed. How relatable, yeah?
How come I love being a mum, but hate this new life?
Does that mean I regret this baby if I miss my old life?
How come I just cannot feed this baby enough, isn't it meant to be 'the best'?
Feeding is so messy, you're not meant to hate it though yeah?
How come I'm so happy, yet so miserable?
How come I don't enjoy this as much as I thought I would?
Does that make me a bad mum?
Why does it feel so lonely when I'm literally always attached to another human?
How come I want help but when offered I turn it down because I don't want to be a bother?

Yet we don't realise how common and okay it is to feel these things!
This is part of matrescence!

I have been doing the Matrescence Practitioners Certification through Matrescence NZ and I am so so excited to be upping my knowledge and understanding of matrescence to bring into the space I work in so expecting parents get an understanding before baby has arrived. But what is matrescence? This is a very big question but in a nutshell....
