It can feel vulnerable to ask for what we need...

Sometimes we expect others to just know; to read between the lines, to sense our disappointment, to show up perfectly without us ever saying a word.

But when we name our needs clearly and kindly, we do something powerful:

We honour ourselves by making our inner world known.
And we honour others by not leaving them guessing or falling short without even knowing what we hoped for.

This is emotional maturity.

This is what relational love looks like:

Transparent, authentic, grounded, and kind.

It doesn’t mean we’ll always get what we need,
but it does mean we’re relating with honesty and care.

And that’s real connection ♡

A nudge to "receive"
A nugget to leave
The trying hard
And grind.

The hard is hard
It's tiring and depleting
And yet,
The task is not completing.

Doubt rolls in
Weariness grows
"I'm trying hard"
But nothing shows.

So try softer, my Dear
Open up and receive
The feminine flow
Is one of surrender and ease.

Softer...
And softer Still
Get out of the way
To receive Divine will.

The ripple effect has been on my heart lately...

The seemingly small thing you do or say that ends up having a very large, widespread impact.

"What we do in life, echoes in eternity" Gladiator vibes!

I recently shared a business idea that I believe can be very impactful and helpful for all young women.

I then saw someone who supported my idea create a similar offering.

Initially, I felt upset and like I had been robbed!

But, after compassionately sitting with those hurt parts of myself and exploring them further, my wise Self concluded that there was an impact; my idea rippled out and positively touched someone who could then positively touch others with their offering too.

All for the greater good, ripple upon ripple.

What really matters is not who started the ripple; it's about the greater effect.

The legacy.

It’s not about credit; it’s about contribution.

Nevertheless, the ripple must start somewhere...

So, today I encourage you to be kind and do/say good things, even in the smallest of ways. You have no idea how much impact you have on those around you and the world at large.

A simple idea for good could positively change a generation.
A kind word could save someone's life.
A thoughtful action could start a revolutionary movement that helps millions of people.

You may not witness the legacy of your kindness or courage or get recognition for it, but trust this:

Every positive ripple you create makes the world better than it was before.

✨ Calling all teen girls (13-16) and their parents! ✨

What if you could work WITH your cycle instead of feeling like it’s working against you? What if you had a deeper understanding of your body, your mind, and how to move through each phase with confidence?

Join me for a 6-week journey in Term 2, where we’ll explore the different phases of your menstrual cycle and how to live in alignment with them. Each week, we’ll dive into what’s happening in your body, how it affects your mood and energy, and how you can support yourself with mindfulness, movement, mental health strategies, and real connection.

This is a safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate space where you can share, learn, and feel empowered. Come as your authentic self — just real talk, real tools, and a chance to connect with other girls going through the same things.

There will also be an online meet & greet before we start, so you (and your parents!) can ask any questions and get to know me—I'm a Neuropsychologist based in Whakatāne passionate about helping young women feel strong and supported.

There is a possibility of doing this series online instead or doing it online later in the year - let me know what your preference is.

Share with a friend who needs this too! Let’s create a community of empowered, informed, and connected young women. 🌸

Interested? Send me a DM or email to lesia@mindbodyconnect.health 💕 Spaces limited.

🔽The Drama Triangle vs The Empowerment Triangle🔼

After my post a couple of days ago, a number of you reached out to find out more about The Drama Triangle vs The Empowerment Triangle.

Thank you for connecting!

So, I created this post to hopefully provide more clarity and understanding.

Questions to reflect on without judgement:

What roles in these triangles are you playing in your various relationships at work, in your romantic relationships, with your family, with your friends, within the community, and the world at large?

In this year of transformation and change, can you transform from:

Victim to Creator?
Persecutor to Challenger?
Rescuer to Coach?

Can you drop the drama and empower instead?

YES YOU CAN ♡

Yes, it's about feeling your feelings.
Yes, it's about letting emotions move through you in their own time.
But, it's about doing this while staying present IN your body.
Like I often say, "get out of your head and into your body".

We've got this! ♡

🔴 Help us keep EBOP Riding for the Disabled open 🔴

It's been a pretty tough week for us after receiving the devastating news that two of our major funding applications were declined. 😩 We don’t receive any government funding, which means our entire existence relies on grants like these, the generosity of donations from individuals and local businesses.

As we continue to feel the effects of the recent pandemic and the ongoing economic crisis, running a non-profit organisation has been a tough battle. A significant 80% of our overhead expenses go towards coaching wages, which are critical for delivering safe and effective riding sessions for our participants. These skilled coaches are the backbone of our program, providing not just instruction but also support and encouragement to our riders.

Our financial situation has become increasingly dire, leaving us with an uncertain future and we face the very real possibility of having to close our doors. 💔 We urgently need support to help us navigate these challenging times. Whether it’s a one-time donation, ongoing support, or even spreading the word about our cause, your contribution can make a real difference in the lives of those we serve.

Together, we can help ensure that EBOP Riding for the Disabled continues to provide interaction with horses to develop increased ability, independence and self-worth for children and adults with physical, intellectual, emotional and social challenges.

Thank you for your consideration and support during this critical time. ❤️‍🩹
