HELPING CELEBRATE LIFE SINCE 1990 in the Eastern Bay of Plenty. Our premises is located at 21 King Street, Kopeopeo, Whakatane.

Our company has a well-established and trusted name in the Funeral Industry. Willetts Funeral Services has been in business since 1990 covering the Eastern Bay of Plenty and New Zealand. Our Chapel seats 120 comfortably and for larger services we open up the back of the chapel, seating a further 100 people. The chapel is fully air conditioned and is spacious and comfortable with high quality sound equipment and a digital projector for photo presentations, an electric organ and video facilities to record the service. For family members that are unable to attend, We have available a live Funeral Streaming Service. Due to different reasons, sometimes family or friends may not be able to attend the funeral but now with the latest technology we are able to offer a Funeral Streaming service, the next best thing to being there. We are fully wheelchair friendly with a ramp at the rear of the chapel allowing access to the adjoining lounge, kitchen area and bathrooms. Our reception lounge and kitchen provides a place for light refreshments following the service. We also have two private family rooms.

A celebration of Marilyn's life will be held in the chapel of Willetts Funeral Services, 21 King Street, Whakatane on Friday 27th February at 2pm, followed by a private burial.

Remembering Lennard Owen Erceg (Len)

ERCEG Lennard Owen (Len). Passed away peacefully on 18th February 2026 at Whakatane Hospital aged 84 years. Dearly loved husband of Anne, adored father and father in law of Nichola and Rob and Stefan and Tracy, loved stepfather of Andrew and Roxanne. Much loved Dida of Jordan and Brady, Kayleigh, Alex and Jack and Latisha, and best doggy dad of Miss Daisy.
He was a strong, loyal, independent man with a wicked sense of humour and we will miss him immensely. Two holes in one, two and a half months short of his and Annie's 60th wedding anniversary. He could have waited.
His final party will be held at the Ohope Golf Club, 541 Harbour Road, Ohope on Monday 23rd February 2026 at 2pm, followed by a private cremation.

Today was the farewell of a very beautiful lady, Ginny Kiddey. Ginny is the wife of one of our team, Geoff who is a Funeral Assistant and Driver for Willetts Funeral Services.
You may have even met Ginny at a funeral at Willetts, serving cups of tea, and we are deeply saddened by her loss.
Today she arrived to her funeral at the Whakatane Baptist Church in style, on the sidecar of a Vintage Indian Chief motorbike.
Our love and thoughts remain with Geoff and the rest of Ginny's family.

On Wednesday 11th February 2026, suddenly, after a long fought battle, aged 72.

Beloved wife and best friend of Geoff. Adored mother and mother-in-law of Ryan and Kimba, Dan and Lynnice, Anna and Sid. Proud nana to Jack, Olivia, Jade, Jed, Julia and Charlotte. Much loved sister and sister-in-law of Trish and Chris Gilmore, Brian and Michelle, John (dec), and Ian and Holly. A dearly loved aunty, cousin and friend.

A celebration of Ginny’s life will be held in the Baptist Centre, Keepa Road, Whakatane on Monday 16th February at 2pm.

Ginny will be buried in the Anglican Cemetery, 151 Grace Road, Tauranga on Tuesday 17th February at 1pm.

Dearly loved wife of the late Geoff.

Loved nan to her 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Now peacefully resting awaiting the resurrection and reuniting with Geoff.
