HELPING CELEBRATE LIFE SINCE 1990 in the Eastern Bay of Plenty. Our premises is located at 21 King Street, Kopeopeo, Whakatane.

Our company has a well-established and trusted name in the Funeral Industry. Willetts Funeral Services has been in business since 1990 covering the Eastern Bay of Plenty and New Zealand. Our Chapel seats 120 comfortably and for larger services we open up the back of the chapel, seating a further 100 people. The chapel is fully air conditioned and is spacious and comfortable with high quality sound equipment and a digital projector for photo presentations, an electric organ and video facilities to record the service. For family members that are unable to attend, We have available a live Funeral Streaming Service. Due to different reasons, sometimes family or friends may not be able to attend the funeral but now with the latest technology we are able to offer a Funeral Streaming service, the next best thing to being there. We are fully wheelchair friendly with a ramp at the rear of the chapel allowing access to the adjoining lounge, kitchen area and bathrooms. Our reception lounge and kitchen provides a place for light refreshments following the service. We also have two private family rooms.

Loved wife of the late, Jim. Much loved mother and mother in law of Shelley (dec) and Ian, and Peter and Christine. Adored nan of Jodee and Troy, and Kylie and Andrew. Loved great-nan of Neve.
Special thanks to the staff of Mountain View Rest Home for exceptional care, love and support of our Nan.

COWAN Stephen.

It is with the deepest regret and sadness that we inform all friends and family of the sudden passing of Steve on Friday 9th January 2026, aged 69.

Steve was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a devoted friend and colleague to many. We hope to see you all there to celebrate him in his life and farewell him in his passing.

A celebration of his life will be held in the Whakatane Crematorium Chapel, on Thursday 15th January at 11am followed by a private cremation.

Passed peacefully on Friday 9th January 2026, aged 85.

Loved by family, cherished by friends and adored by many.
A life full of joy, laughter, loss and lasting memories a plenty.
Forever in our thoughts and treasured deep in our hearts.
Wherever we go, whatever we do our ties of love will never be apart.
A husband, father, son, brother, grandad, uncle and friend.
Now in the arms of Jesus, until we meet again.

Vic will be laying at his home, 93B King Street, Whakatane and anyone is welcome to come and pay their respects to him on Sunday or Monday.

A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday 14th January at 2:00 pm at Willetts Funeral Services, 21 King Street, Whakatāne.
The family will hold a private cremation after the service, followed by a private burial on Thursday, where Dad will be laid to rest with our Mum.

Beloved husband and best mate, of Margaret for 57 years. Greatly loved Dad and father-in-law of Peter and Ruth, Scott and Shelley, Richard and Lisa, and Steph and Kyle. Adored ‘Grandi’ of his 11 grandchildren, their partners, and his 1.5 great-grandchildren.

Treasured husband of Janice for 58 years. Much loved father and father in-law of Philip and Katrina, Natalie and Simon, Evan and Natalie, and Bronwyn and Tony. Robertson, Ian Penn Hamilton

17 November 1932 to December 23 2025, aged 93.

Passed away peacefully in Devonport, Auckland. Born in Broadwood, Hokianga, only son of Florence (née Hawkins) and Dennis (Pat) Robertson, brother to Patricia and June, raised in Auckland, and lived most of his working life as a plumber and minister in Kawerau.

Dearly beloved husband for 66 years of Beverley Robertson (née Hughes) cherished father of David and Pam, Natalie, Hamish and Jo. Treasured grandfather of Natalie and Clifford, Matthew and Holly, Daniel and Rachel, Nicholas and Holly, Anna and Benoit, Elle (dec.), Sharaya and Elliot, Eli and Alexia, Caleb, Holly, Amos and Violet. Loved great-grandfather of Lily, Roman, William, Eva, Ella, Jackson, Mason and Sofia, Aviya, Kiah, Fletcher, Hudson, and Alyssa.

Ian was known for his sporting prowess, his broad warm smile, hardworking spirit and his compassionate care of others. He ministered to many over the years.

Two services will be held for Ian in Auckland then in Kawerau. The first service will be held in Devonport Holy Trinity Anglican Church on Saturday 27th December at 1:00 PM; the second service will be held in Kawerau at St Margaret’s Anglican Church on Monday 29th December at 1:00 PM, followed by a burial at Kawerau Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome at either or both services.

We thank the staff at William Sanders Rymans Village, Devonport who have cared for Ian over the past three years.
