Congratulations to everyone who competed in the Hyrox Auckland race! It's been awesome to see so many people and different levels of fitness compete and have fun!

Some say Hyrox is harder than running a marathon, and after our FIRST Mini Hyrox training session this morning, we agree that it's TOUGH! πŸ₯΅

(psst.. Hyrox is meant to be tough 🫠)

Tips for making fast food super healthy:

πŸ™ŒπŸ½ As we move into cooler months, don't forget your slow cooker. It produces some of the healthiest, high protein meals quicker than anything! All you have to do is chuck your ingredients in, go to work, and viola! A hot, healthy dinner awaits.

πŸ™ŒπŸ½ Dinner doesn't have to be a grand affair (save that for breakfast!). Charcuterie boards can be modified to suit your taste and needs. Combine your favorite fruits and vegetables on a board with some hummus and homemade dips and pair with a protein shake.

πŸ™ŒπŸ½ Plan your meals ahead of time. Wash all your veges when you bring them home, slice, dice, and store in the fridge to make meal prep easier (and make snack time more convenient!

πŸ™ŒπŸ½ On the go? Find a fast food joint that makes food just the way you like it (healthy, filling, and fresh!) and support the s**t out of them!

✨️ Successful people make time to understand why they failed ✨️

This is also known as "FAIL FORWARD" πŸ™ŒπŸ½

To fail forward is to ALLOW yourself to fail and then LEARN from it.

When you understand the why, what, when, where, who, and how's of it all, you can then start to work on a plan so to improve the outcome/experience next time (the more you do this, the more bulletproof you'll become!)

Over time, the more time and energy you put into your own growth, the better equipped you become at handling situations that would normally knock you off course. This is how you SUCCEED ✨️

People will repeat damaging cycles because the brain and body will always choose a known hell over a lesser known heaven. It's also habitual, and habits can be formed and broken πŸ”—πŸ”¨β›“οΈβ€πŸ’₯

One example of this could be binge eating/drinking on weekends. It's a comfort blanket for some; you're surrounded by your favorite foods/drinks, your favorite people, your favorite escape, even if it's counterproductive to the life or body you want.

Another example might be someone who eats/doesn't eat when feeling stressed or any emotion that causes you to feel powerless or overwhelmed. You might have functioned that way for so long that you don't even realise you do it, or you may be aware that you use food as a crutch or abstain altogether, but you won't change it even if it's counterproductive to the life or body you want.

πŸ’£ Repeating a behavior that doesn't align with your values is how to create turmoil in your mind πŸ’₯

Whether you believe that statement to be true or false is a big reason you'll either succeed or fail in your weight loss journey.

Diet culture has taught us to cut out entire food groups, eat only certain colors, juice everything or eat raw, all of these methods have the same outcome - they create a huge calorie deficit and assist with rapid weight loss.

Problem is, when you go back to eating "normally" and introduce that food group back in, what happens? You create a calorie surplus which causes you to gain weight, moreover, if you've restricted something really yummy that you love for too long, chances are (if you don't lose your taste for it) you'll end up bingeing, and if it's a food that has been processed more than a piece of paper then weight gain will be the least of your woes.

We've come a long way with our relationship with food, which has allowed us to deepen our relationship with ourselves, which only deepens our understanding of food and how it heals or harms.

Your relationship with food is a very personal one, and like any relationship worth having, it requires love, patience, effort, and understanding β™‘

"Pants fit better. Shirts fit better."

It's been a successful 3 weeks of SHRED so far. Everyone who's following the plan as closely as they can are reaping so many benefits:

- inflammation going down

- bloating stopped

- sleeping better

- moving better

- FEELING BETTER!

Food is medicine, people! I love helping others find their way back to themselves through diet and exercise, but it's not without its challenges:

- habits are strong once they're created, including the bad ones.

- there's 2 excuses NOT TO, for every reason TO. Read that again and let that sink in.

- rushing woman's syndrome is very real and it will take a lot more than a meal plan to fix the mindset on that one.

- your home environment will 100% help you succeed or fail. The support you get from your family, the food you keep at eye level, and your daily habits and thought processes all have an impact on your outcome. Your 'home environment' encompasses your mind (thoughts), your body, as well as your house.

- your non-negotiable actions lead you to your goal or further from it.
