Tena koutou e nga iwi o te ao...I've started this page as a record of my journey with type 2 diabetes and I'll have daily updates on my journey what I've researched, what has worked for me and what didnt work for me...all the different things I tried to lower my blood sugar naturally with diet and no medication and with diet and medication also...we are all different in how our own body works and functions daily so this is not a perfect science but a version of trying to balance my blood sugar levels...

I have been diagnosed for 2 years and tried going the no medication route with no success at all blood sugars still stayed high with removing alot of sugary food and processed food also...

I'm humbled that you have taken the time to read this small snippet of actual life living with type 2 diabetes and I will warn you now I use laughter and fun at times to get through my day so if you dont mind a joke or two then you will be ok 😀 but on a serious note it is a serious illness and one that needs to be addressed as I believe diabetes is the silent killer taking too many people and leading to all the other major cancers and major organ failures....

I never got proper information for my diabetes from the health sector when I was first diagnosed my gp said my blood levels were 120plus which is serious as I thought then I got referred to the hospital diabetes specialist but got a computer generated message to say I was declined with no explanation as to why....I had good blood pressure and cholesterol yet my blood sugars were through the roof...I got given 2500 pills to take over a 2 to 4 week period then they would evaluate that script?

I didnt take the medication as I didn't want that for me as I saw my father take over 70 pills daily some pills he took were to activate other pills which disnt sound right to me....

2 years on and my diabetes got worse with nerve damage def was happening...I broke my ankle and all the diabetes korero came out again and I was just as bad as I was 2 years prior, 7 days ago I was admitted to hospital to get a rod plate and screws into my ankle and they were concerned around the healing side of that so right now I'm also going through that to as I'm on crutches etc....

My bloods were 20 when I went in 7 days ago and when I came out on thursday I was at 10.6 so I came down half and I'm trying to make it to single digits that's the 1st goal and the rest will be goals as I set as I go along. Last thing i need is for other loved ones around me to get this sickness and if i can help just 1 person with some information i have that can help them then I'm happy with that....

Taku mihi aroha atu kia koe, kia korua, kia koutou katoa te hauora me te wairua kia koutou....
