Whether new to yoga or a coming back to practise, with a curious intention we dive into a deeper sense of feeling with use of equipment and reflection of the self. Too much for too long affects our whole body and systems, lowering our overal
l health and wellbeing. Often in a state of fight or flight our bodies are in survival mode, they work hard to keep us going. How does this affect our mind and emotional state? How often are our nervous systems actually relaxed and calm or balanced? How often do we really LISTEN to our bodies? What THOUGHTS are really going on in our head? How often do we allow ourselves to FEEL the waves of emotions that arise up within the body? In what ways are our habits and tendencies (eg how we walk or sit and use our body day to day, our conversations and what we focus on,) contributing to our overall wellness? Does this expose something that needs attention? What about injury prevention? How aware are we REALLY of our bodies niggles and pains and how the intelligent body compensates? How well do we LOVE our body? Connect? Nurture? Care? Understand? WHAT DOES CULTIVATE the BODILY CONTAINER MEAN? To 'CULTIVATE the BODILY CONTAINER' we connect with feeling awareness and practices. We build a sense of grounded connection and heart, acknowledging sensitivities and tendencies. Restoring, moving through and the relationship within. Expanding with sensing awareness of the bodily container, building stability, strength and flexibility with body-mind. Essentially restoring our 'bodily container' where we FEEL safe and cared for. A space to grow from as we 'peel' the veils (like an onion) and the bodies intelligent ways of compensating can begin to be transformed. Each to own their own practice. PS. Children's and teens classes come with 3 levels. PLAY, INTRODUCTORY and PROGRESSIVE. Providing for variety of minds and bodies. TERM CLASSES and HOLIDAY CLASSES AVAILABLE. PLAY is an opportunity for busy body and minds to explore a range of movements, games and positive social play, with relaxation or meditation at the end of session. INTRODUCTORY has more structure around yoga practice, yet is still playful with occasional games and other activities. PROGRESSIVE from 10yrs+ opportunity for students to deepen and progress their practice, reflect on what they want to focus on, develop in themselves with guided direction of own learning. MENSTRUATION CARE
In our TEENS classes we begin conversations and practices around Menstrual Care. It is a very important part of growing as a young woman and the more we 'normalize' these conversations, with a sense of understanding of their own bodies and each other, the more empowered young women will FEEL about themselves as they grow.
