The thing about depression is people don’t know our triggers.. I mean how can they unless wetell them? The sad part is we often react and treat them badly coz they made us feel bad even when we know that we’re over reacting and they didn’t realise the severity of what they said or did but as that black cloud distorts our vision it’s like something dark and powerful takes over.. it’s at that point that we need to remember that it’s our mind and we’re in control of our thoughts and actions..
hence why we’re held accountable for every single one.

{Keys to dealing with depression}

1. Do your best to stay away from negative things (ie people and music)

Listening to negative music and getting into it because you feel you can “relate to it” is more damaging for your soul ..I know it’s hard because it makes us feel somewhat satisfied hearing words put to our pain but if you’re in a dark place you shouldn’t be listening to music that feeds that darkness and keeps you there.. you should listen to music that uplifts you and pulls you out of that darkness

It goes the same for people .. growth and true happiness comes from finding solutions not justifying the problem ..associating with negative people who sit around complaining and wallowing in their sorrows gets you nowhere ..you may think it’s good because they “get you” but they won’t “get you” out the slump that your in.. find people who have been through it and made it to the other side

Your mind is like your own personal world.. full of good places and bad places.. unfortunately for many of us the good places may seem few and far between and the bad places are so easy to get lost in but remember that it’s YOUR world ..NOTHING can happen without your consent.. as long as you have the whole place mapped out and know where not to go then you’ll be fine ..stay in the good places ..in other words, when you start to stray into that dark place, think about all the things in your life that make you happy 😊.. you may say “There’s not much.😔” but if you really think about it you’ll probably find there’s way more than you think 😊.. it’s just the dark and dismal place with negative words painted on every corner and voices in the darkness telling you there’s no hope that make it seem that way but don’t give up coz just around the corner you might find a sign pointing to a better place and if not the next corner maybe the next or the next after that ..the point being if you give up you’ll never know how close you were 💯💜😊

Depression can hit people in many different ways and the causes can be very different but that doesn’t mean it can’t be dealt with the same .. to be honest I don’t think it ever goes away but with this page I hope to at least help people deal with their depression the way I’ve learnt to deal with mine ..while the same methods may not work for you, I hope they’ll at least be a step in the right direction and help you on your journey to dealing with depression…
