Check this out!!!! Oof this work I do never ceases to amaze me.
Firstly, I’d like to thank Sarajane for letting me document her progress and also, hugely, that she allowed me to reproduce it on here.

This work is sacred. Working with scars …. Is working directly with trauma embedded in living breathing tissue. It humbles me and calls in a deeper knowing of the body.
Keloid scarring is no joke. What you see on top can also be spreading underneath so slowness and patience is paramount.

The body cannot be rushed … ever.

I used my cups and also accompanied with MyoFascial hands on to help these scars unwind. Isn’t it amazing how the body has started to absorb the keloid. Even today the scars are looking even better. Between treatments the body takes over and realigns the collagen. It blows me away how different it looks now to when we first started.

Note: when we started these scars were 2 years old, and so with the right tools, even old scars can be changed up. If you aren’t comfortable with your scars let’s chat.

There is no greater feeling to know that your kids think you rock!!! I asked my daughter if she could write a few words, but I wasn’t expecting this …. gotta say I’m pretty chuffed and my eyes are leaking a bit. Love you Pebble🥰

“out of all the massage places I have been to in the past (which is not many because why would I bother when im the daughter of the best massage therapist I know) I would without a doubt rate Blue Sea Massage the most effective and I SWEAR im not biased. my mum is absolutely incredible at what she does and every time I get off her massage table I feel like a different person. she offers a large variety of different massage to really target specific concerns or areas of tension and as soon as she starts working you can tell she is absolutely 100% invested in ensuring you leave feeling better. She cares about her clients like no other and you will know instantly that you are in amazing hands (no pun intended) Blue Sea is incredible for both relaxation, but also long term results if you visit consecutively if you are someone that suffers with chronic body pain or specific areas of tension. as a Beauty Therapist in training myself, it is one of my greatest honours to brag about my mum and Blue Sea Massage to all of my peers and tutors during our massage modules!”

Thanks my sweet girl. Xx

Have you ever wondered why I offer you water after your massage?

Here’s how it all works:

💧 The Connection Between Blood, Kidneys & Urine

Urine is made when your kidneys filter waste and excess fluid out of your bloodstream. So anything that increases circulation or shifts fluid balance in your body can influence kidney activity — and therefore urine production.

💆‍♀️ Why Massage Can Make You P*e More:

1. Increased Blood Circulation
Massage stimulates blood flow, meaning more blood passes through the kidneys. More blood filtered = more urine.

2. Lymphatic Drainage
Massage, especially techniques like lymphatic drainage, helps move interstitial fluid (fluid between your cells) into the lymph system and then back into circulation — which the kidneys then process.

3. Muscle and Tissue Release
When muscles and fascia release tension, they often also release held metabolic waste, which gets carried in the blood to the kidneys.

4. Parasympathetic Activation
Massage activates the rest-and-digest nervous system (parasympathetic), which tells your body it’s safe to detox and eliminate. This can promote kidney function and bladder activity.

🧠 In Summary:

Massage doesn’t directly “squeeze out” urine — but by increasing blood flow, mobilizing fluids, and activating the body’s detox systems, it leads to more waste being filtered by the kidneys, and that shows up as increased urine.

So yep; it’s important to stay hydrated post massage and feed your Kidneys some love.

Another reason massage is more than just relaxation — it’s deep body therapy. 💙

One of the gentle moments Retreat not far from home.
A gentle slow stroll around the vast grounds of this mystical peaceful haven in the forest after attending a Kundalini Yoga session.

When you put yourself first.

When you carve out time in your schedule for yourself.

In those moments of stillness …. you come back to yourself. Cause it’s just you and your heartbeat and your breath and your body and mind all finally returning to alchemise in this moment of stillness.

We get busy.
We forget about us.
We ignore the whispering of our bodies telling us to slow down.
The sore shoulder that tries to remind us
The knees that throb at night…
The headaches
The aching back
When do we feel this the most?
When we stop …. When we are still for a second … when we learn to listen to our “self” our “felt senses” …

𝙎𝙏𝙄𝙇𝙇𝙉𝙀𝙎𝙎 𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝘽𝙐𝙎𝙔𝙉𝙀𝙎𝙎 𝙝𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙨.

When you book a massage, this is carving out time, this is putting yourself first.

So many times after a massage, the client will say “oh I didn’t realise I was so tight” or “I didn’t realise how stressed I actually was”.

Massage lets you retreat from the busyness so you can recalibrate, recharge and return to 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 "𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛"

05/07/2025

Using a weighted blanket during a massage can have a powerful calming effect on the nervous system. Here’s what’s happening physiologically and neurologically:

🧠 Nervous System Response:

1. Activates the Parasympathetic Nervous System
• The deep, even pressure from a weighted blanket mimics a technique known as Deep Pressure Stimulation (DPS).

• DPS signals safety and comfort to the body, which shifts the autonomic nervous system from “fight or flight” (sympathetic) into “rest and digest” (parasympathetic).

• This shift helps the body to relax more deeply, slow the heart rate, and reduce muscle tension.

2. Regulates Neurotransmitters

• Deep pressure boosts levels of serotonin (mood stabilizer) and dopamine (feel-good hormone), which enhance the sense of well-being.

• It can also increase melatonin (promoting rest and sleep), and reduce cortisol (the stress hormone).

3. Improves Body Awareness (Proprioception)

• The extra weight enhances proprioceptive feedback — the body’s sense of where it is in space.

• This increased sensory input can calm a hyper-aroused nervous system, making the client feel more grounded and secure.

💆‍♀️ Massage Therapy Integration:

• When combined with massage, the weighted blanket enhances the calming effect, especially during still moments like integration/resting phases or while working on the lower body.

• Ideal for clients with anxiety, trauma history, ADHD, or sensory sensitivities, as it helps contain their energy, creating a sense of safe holding.

Your experience is everything.

Blue Sea Massage …. Where all your senses are catered to.

It’s me, 𝘉𝘭𝘶𝘦 𝘚𝘦𝘢 𝘔𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘢𝘨𝘦 AKA JOJO😉

Here’s some random facts so you can suss my vibe.
My favourite MASSAGE to do -
I can’t choose cause I love them all BUT my fave... is adding “cupping” to your massage if needed. They are like “Santa’s little helpers” truly magical for scar tissue and hydrating tight tissue.
BUT my double fave would have to be Pregnancy massage. It’s so satisfying to be able to provide relief to Mummas who are sore and tired.

My favourite treatment to get -
FACIALS. My last one was from Alisa .whitianga, It was absolutely bliss. Alisa has such a calming and grounding aura about her, which translates into her touch being so soothing and healing. I’m seriously so excited we are swapping treatments with each other and it’s something I really look forward to. Grateful beyond to have Alisa in my pocket for self care time. Thanks darlin! 😘😘

When l’m not in my studio I am -
A voracious reader of books. Anything to do with the body, brain, yoga and breathing I’m in. Love me a podcast with Joe Rogan and Andrew HUBERMAN at the 🎤
Walking in nature with Kaya my chocolate Staffy. Doing a Sauna or swimming in a river or ocean. Biking and yacking and generally FAFFING with my hubby. Love arts and crafts and macramé and doing stuff with my hands. Going for coffee and gymming and travelling the world with my Hubs.
Spending precious time with my family - Jimmy and Phoebe our kids.
Favourite food is Yum Cha and anything Asian cuisine.

Some things I live by -
* Your thoughts are powerful and manifest your reality.
* Treat people with kindness, you don’t know the battles they may be facing.
That’s a little about me

Being busy is great, but not at the point where your mental health declines and your body is begging for rest.
This was me the other day after 3 clients back to back. I felt heavy and exhausted.
The 3 people I had in were all exhausted as well, from work, from grief, from heartbreak.

What did we all have in common?

Knowing that we needed to stop and rest.

To take care of our bodies.

To let our nervous systems regulate.

To notice our own breath and how it felt to slow it all down.

No one is going to hand you a medal at the end of the day for running yourself empty.

Only you have the power to notice when you need to rest so please pay attention to your body and your mind.

STOP 🛑 when you need to rest
DONT just keep going.
YOU aren’t a ROBOT …. You are a human BEING!

Love Jo ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌸
