The MBGFC Ladies Tournament is back for 2026, and with it comes the return of the ‘Last Lady Standing’ lucky angler prize… a BRAND NEW 2025 MG3 cheers to the legends at Farmer Autovillage Coromandel! 🙌🏼

Congratulations to angler Daniel Given, setting the new MBGFC Club Record for Skipjack Tuna on 24kg line over the weekend with this 9.06kg fish, beating the previously set record of 7.415kg in 2013! Well done! 🙌🏼

The Winter Tuna Tournament is done and dusted for 2025! ❄️

Well done to our 9 teams, persevering with the trying conditions and managing to weigh in 9 fish over the course of the 4 week long tournament! Unfortunately both the fish & weather windows didn't play ball right up until the final buzzer, but that didn't stop our boats weighing 7 of the 9 fish on the last day!

Congratulations to all of our prize winners, and to team Tenacious taking out the average weight sweepstake!

Looking forward to next year already! 🐟

With only 2 Skipjack Tuna being weighed in for the comp so far, both the leaderboard and the average weight sweepstake are wide open for the taking!

Important Info:
📣 The fishing area for this comp is open NZ WIDE but fish must be weighed in at the MBGFC weigh station, per the tournament rules!
📣 In the event of the leaderboard not being filled, the remaining cash prizes will be drawn…You must be present at prizegiving to claim!

We are into the last week of fishing for the 2025 Winter Tuna Tournament, and with only 2/5 places on the leaderboard filled, there is still time to take it out! ❄️

Weighstation closes SAT 16 Aug @ 5.30pm
