Dry Needling for Musculoskeletal Pain

Dry needling helps reduce pain, release tight or overactive muscles, and restore healthy movement by targeting myofascial trigger points with fine, sterile needles.

✔️ Improve mobility
✔️ Calm stubborn muscle irritation
✔️ Enhance the effectiveness of your rehab or exercise programme

If you’re dealing with persistent muscle or joint pain, dry needling may help you feel and function better.

What Actually Happens During Dry Needling? 🤔

Dry needling creates a series of natural responses in the body. Here are the four key mechanisms:

1️⃣ Segmental Distribution Response

Needling stimulates nerves that share the same spinal segment as the painful area.
This helps the spinal cord dampen pain signals, reduce muscle guarding, and create a more relaxed movement pattern.

2️⃣ Immune & Inflammatory Response

Dry needling creates a healthy, therapeutic inflammatory response.
This boosts blood flow, encourages tissue repair, clears out irritants, and helps calm chronically tight or overloaded muscles.

3️⃣ Neuromuscular Reset (Acetylcholine Response)

Overactive trigger points release too much acetylcholine, causing constant contraction.
A needle disrupts this cycle, reduces excessive ACh release, and often triggers a “twitch”—
followed by improved muscle relaxation and better oxygenation.

✨ Scar Tissue Release at Dynamic Health ✨

Scar tissue forms as your body heals, but over time it can remodel into a disorganised mesh that can restrict surrounding tissues—affecting movement, comfort, and function.

At Dynamic Health, we use a specialised Scar Tissue Release technique, a gentle form of myofascial release that helps lift, soften, and unstick the scar from the layers beneath it. This restores glide between your skin, fascia, and muscles so your body can move freely again. Even 20-year-old scars can be manually manipulated, helping restore freedom of movement.

We commonly treat:
✔️ Caesarean scars
✔️ Mastectomy & breast surgery scars
✔️ Burn scars
✔️ Surgical scars of all kinds

Please note: This treatment is focused on improving movement, comfort, and function. It does not support cosmetic changes and is unlikely to significantly alter the appearance of your scar.

If your scar feels tight, uncomfortable, or restricted—this treatment can help restore function and ease.

✨Myofascial Release Therapy ✨

Myofascial Release (MFR) is a gentle, hands-on technique that works with your fascia—the connective tissue that wraps around every muscle, joint, and organ. Inspired by Tom Myers’ Anatomy Trains, MFR views the body as one connected system. If one area is tight, it can affect the whole body… just like taking a pole out of a tent!

Fascia is full of receptors that sense pressure, stretch, and movement. It’s a system of collagen and elastin fibres suspended in a mucousy gel that binds with interstitial (intercellular) fluid. This fascial network is closely aligned with the lymphatic system and the white blood cells of the immune system, and it acts like a tunnel system for blood, lymph, and hydration. When fascia becomes tight or sticky, muscles can’t glide properly, leading to stiffness, discomfort, and persistent pain.

How it Works:
No oils. No waxes. Just slow, steady pressure and gentle stretching along the fascial lines to create space between the layers of fascia and muscle—so your muscles can contract and relax without feeling stuck in a spiderweb.

Who It Helps:
✔️ Chronic tightness
✔️ Postural strain
✔️ Reduced mobility
✔️ Persistent or recurring pain
✔️ Digestive complaints
✔️ Athletes and active individuals
✔️ Stress-related tension

If you feel tight, restricted, or “stuck,” MFR can help restore smooth, comfortable movement from the inside out.

Breath Retraining & Diaphragm Release

If you’re experiencing tension in your chest, neck, or shoulders—or noticing shallow, tight, or irregular breathing—this session is designed to help you breathe better, move easier, and feel more grounded.

Over time, stress, poor posture, pain, or illness can cause us to develop unhealthy breathing habits. This can lead to fatigue, tension, anxiety, or a reduced sense of calm and control. This one-on-one session is designed to help restore efficient, natural breathing by working with your body and breath directly.

What to Expect During Your Session:

- Breathing Assessment:
We’ll begin by looking at how you currently breathe—evaluating rib cage movement, diaphragm function, posture, and any areas of tension or compensation.

- Hands-On Diaphragm & Muscle Release:
Using gentle myofascial techniques, we’ll release tension in the diaphragm and the muscles that support your breathing, including the chest, ribs, neck, and abdomen.

- Guided Breathing Practice:
You’ll be guided through simple breathing exercises to support deeper, more relaxed, and efficient breathing patterns.

- Take-Home Tools:
You’ll receive personalised exercises, postural tips, and lifestyle strategies to continue improving your breathing between sessions and in daily life.

This session may benefit you if you:

- Feel short of breath, even at rest
- Experience chronic neck, shoulder, or rib tension
- Stress, anxiety, or panic attacks
- Have trouble taking a full breath or sigh
- Are recovering from respiratory illness, surgery, or prolonged stress
- Want to improve posture, energy, or nervous system regulation

This is a calm, focused session that meets you where you are—whether you’re looking to reduce stress, support healing, or simply breathe easier.

TMJ Release Therapy – Myofascial Release for Jaw Tension

TMJ Release is a specialised manual therapy designed to gently address tension and dysfunction in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) — the hinge connecting your jawbone to your skull.

Using precise myofascial release techniques, this therapy targets the muscles and fascia surrounding the jaw to soften restrictions, restore balance, and support natural movement.

The TMJ can become tight or misaligned due to stress, clenching, grinding, poor posture, or trauma, often leading to a variety of uncomfortable symptoms.

TMJ disorder (TMD) can manifest as:
• Jaw pain or tightness
• Clicking or popping in the jaw
• Earaches or a feeling of fullness in the ears
• Toothaches not caused by dental issues
• Chronic headaches or migraines
• Facial tension or tenderness
• Neck and shoulder pain
• Difficulty chewing or opening the mouth fully

During a TMJ Release session, gentle hands-on techniques are used to release fascial adhesions, reduce muscle tightness, and encourage the jaw to realign naturally. This non-invasive approach not only eases localised discomfort but can also bring relief to associated symptoms throughout the head, neck, and shoulders.

Whether you're dealing with long-term jaw tension or looking to alleviate related pain and dysfunction, TMJ Release offers a gentle yet effective path toward relief and restored balance.

If you’re over 50, you know the drill...

Your body doesn’t bounce back like it used to, muscles feel stiff, and energy dips seem to last longer than they should.

A magnesium deficiency can make these issues even worse—or, in some cases, be the root cause.

Andre from Koru Nutrition reports "Magnesium is essential for over 300 processes in the body, but for him, the biggest difference was how it eased his restless legs at night.

But before he found the right support, there was a big problem…

Most of the popular magnesium products online and in pharmacies weren’t designed with older bodies in mind.

As we age, nutrient absorption declines, so for my dad, it was crucial to find a form of magnesium his body could actually use.

The results so far?

My dad has found better sleep, deeper relaxation, and stronger muscle and nerve function—and now, I’m excited for you to experience the benefits too!"

Dr. Peter Attia, the well-regarded Physician & Researcher, has highlighted the importance of choosing the correct form of magnesium—especially when absorption matters:

"Magnesium is essential for numerous processes, from cellular energy production to muscle relaxation. Among the various forms available, magnesium bisglycinate offers the highest bioavailability.”

That’s why Koru Advanced Magnesium with Magnesium Bisglycinate, Vitamin B6, Boron, and Vitamin D3 was created. The nutrients are scientifically proven to enhance absorption and help your body use magnesium more effectively.

Always check with your trusted health practitioner before taking any supplements.
