We’re incredibly proud of Blind Sport NZ Board Member Kerrin Wheeler, named to the NZ Team for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games in the Mixed Para Pair (B2–B3), alongside Sonya Woodrow, with Directors Colin Wheeler and Kimberly Carraher.

👉 Check out the video below from Good Sorts last year which shows Sonya’s story. a brilliant example of Kiwi ingenuity, where her coach found an inclusive, practical way to get her immersed in the sport!

Absolutely awesome to see so many giving it their all at the 2026 Halberg Games.

We were super proud present at the workshop day once again! We were also supporting with Goalball (which was unfortunately unable to go ahead due to the best call of ending the event early for safe travel).

Well done to all who participated, especially the brand new light blue BLENNZ team! Loved it!

The photos below are just a snap of highlights.. Helen, Manager of Blind Sport New Zealand with Amy Ellis, fundraising for her Athletics event coming up.

And a photo of the mascot race with the crowd, capturing a few representatives from BLENNZ cheering them on.
