Hello! I'm getting back into the swing of things after my first COVID infection. S**t feels so heavy right now. I am exhausted, but I'm here.

I haven't posted in a while because my nature is to always throw myself into doing all things very well, and I often get stuck in what I like to call perfection paralysis.

If if I can't do it perfectly or if the reality won't match my vision, I sometimes won't do it at all.

Rather than waste any more time in that state, I realise just getting some s**t done, even half-assed, is better than getting no s**t done and creating nothing.

My social media doesn't have to be so manicured all the time, right?

On another level, a lot of what has kept me silent is witnessing the atrocities happening around the globe. The feelings and thoughts I want to express are so much bigger than what I can physically communicate, and I just don't think I'm articulate enough to be a good, healthy communicator about that.

And then there's the added bonus of once I'm out of practice/ habit with posting, its easier to just not post, because I then ask myself "Who are you actually helping by posting?" And I worry that the answer is no one.

I realised today that the answer is me. I'm helping myself not feel so helpless and hopeless by posting. Hopefully, by doing that, I'll eventually help someone else, too, but today's answer is me.

PS: Hope you're being kind to yourself today. That's the one thing on my list that I'm doing my best not to half-ass.

June is officially the start of winter here in and with this quiet, fallow period brings the celebration, or Māori New Year, which celebrates thr Matariki / Pleiades star cluster in the Ta**us constellation.

Matariki carries deep cultural significance, and the modern name for the holiday is an abbreviation of Ngā Mata o te Ariki -- the Eyes of God. The God referred to is Tāwhirimātea, God of winds and weather. When Ranginui, the sky father, and Papatūānuku, the earth mother, were separated from their dark embrace by Tāne, Tawhirimātea was so distraught, he tore out his eyes and crushed them into pieces, and stuck them onto the chest of the sky, becoming the blind god, who feels his way around the sky and brings wind from different directions.

Traditionally, looking to the stars in the Matariki cluster would help predict what the new year would bring -- each of the nine stars correspond to a different aspect of what we need in life, from food to water to rain, wind, along with themes of remembering loved ones who've passed on, honoring the present, and looking towards the future / making wishes for the new year.

To weave in an appreciation for the stars, I've chosen to work with the by and luckily I was able to purchase a copy of Marie's "Golden Eclipse Tarot Guidebook: A Tarot Guidebook for the Fool's Journey, Zodiac Correspondences and Self Discovery" and her "Golden Eclipse As Above So Below: A Guide to Astrology for Tarot Readers."

While this deck focuses more on Tropical and Sidereal Astrology, digging into the mythology and history of Matariki has really given me a great curiosity around learning Māori Astrology as well, and I'll be exploring this through June and July.

I was gifted this beautiful deck for my birthday back in February -- and filmed this flip-through last month while I had a burst of energy ✨️

The Botan Tarot by is a gorgeous collection of watercolour paintings that are so dreamy and lush that I could stare at them for hours. I wish this came in a bigger size because this would be a beautiful altar deck. 💓

Full flip-through is up on my YT (link in the comments).

Hot off the phone: new deck flip-through of POESIS () now live on my YouTube channel.

This is a beautiful collection of 77 cards designed to guide us inward when we have questions, trusting that we already have all the answers in the center of our being.

Deck creators Andrea Wan, Megan King, and Aaron Dawkins created the deck as a tool that is accessible to people in all ages and stages of life, who may follow any belief system.

POESIS was created with the 'divine feminine journey' in mind, which deck creators say offers a nurturing energy to work with. "As our society has been so goal driven and focused on action, there is a need for tenderness and emotional connection to come through for balance and support, especially in these unprecedented times."

With its focus being on self-empowerment, each of the deck's 77 cards represents a different life stage or experience, and altogether, these make up a life's journey.

The artwork is definitely striking; its monochrome design and visually stimulating images evoke an otherworldly, dreamlike quality. It will pair well with quote a few of my tarot and oracle cards -- I'm looking forward to adding it to my rotation for daily pulls in May.

The Teeny Tiny Tarot by is a cute and quirky tarot deck based on the Rider-Waite-Smith system, without it being a direct clone. Watch my full flip-through on YT: https://youtu.be/vCvrxDcG9JE

If you're a miniature deck lover who tends to play on the "I too am strange and unusual" side of the street, this set will be right up your alley. ✨️

Through her slightly spooky / gloomy lens, Holly's given the traditional tarot suits an update:

Cups = Skulls
Pentacles = Eyeballs
Swords = Needles
Wands = Sticks

She carries on this creepy/cute, gloomy and strange vibe through her matching Mini Divi decks — six in total, each containing 30 cards — that explore various themes she's enjoyed learning about, from local and global lore, omens and superstitions, witching artefacts, curiosities, ghosts and various "ends."

These Mini Divi decks can be used separately, or together as one giant (mini) oracle deck — the card backs are all the same on these.

I really adore this little set!

I think I'll be using this for my daily pulls in a few months' time, when the nights are long and the days are cold.

It'll be a welcome group of loving friends to see me through the darkness of winter.

New decks, oh my 😍 My birthday was last month, so getting this many new decks in such a short period of time is quite an anomaly.

Just a wee video go quickly showcase the decks entering my collection this month! I recorded this maybe two weeks ago — hence me already having the Supra Ora...
